Apple launches new Earth Day Lessons site for environmental education

Apple has teamed with the E.O. Wilson Biodiversity Foundation to create a series of lessons for Earth Day on the iPad. The lessons, which focus on conservation, ecosystems, ecology, and more, have been tailored to encourage a deeper exploration of different environmental issues.

The lessons all have multiple components. Each starts with a reading section from the Life on Earth textbook, which is available for free from the iBooks Store. Then there's a research component, offering examples of how students can continue their immersion in the lesson. Finally, each lesson provides potential actions that students could take to increase awareness of these issues in their communities.
