Apple's new head of retail operations to be made an 'honorary dame' of the British Empire

Incoming Apple SVP of Retail and current Burberry CEO Angela Ahrendts will soon be made an honorary Dame of the British Empire. The ceremony is expected to be low-key, and will be presided over by British Secretary of State for Business, Innovation, and Skills. Ahrendts will not be allowed to use the title Dame, though she will be able use DBE after her name, due to the fact that she is not a British citizen. The Daily Mail:
Non British citizens are not entitled to receive their honour from the Queen at Buckingham Palace and are instead presented with their awards by the relevant secretary of state.
Ahrendts was hired as head of Apple Retail by CEO Tim Cook in October, and she is expected to start that position as soon as this month.
