Apple has taken the top spot in FutureBrand's rankings of the world's favorite companies. The survey measures public perception of companies from across the world, ranking the top 100. The top spot had been held by Google last year, with Apple coming in second.

Compared to the survey average, Apple was given high marks across all of FutureBrand's categories. These include areas like Personality, Trust, Story, Innovation, and Individuality.

Apple is joined on the list by fellow technology brands Microsoft, which took the number two spot, and Samsung, which came in at third. Other brands include Facebook (6), Amazon (8), and Nike (11).
