MacBooks are the most reliable and satisfying laptops you can buy

Apple's MacBook lineup came out on top in the latest laptop reliability survey from Consumer Reports. While 20% of all respondents reported a breakdown within three years of buying their machine, MacBook Air and MacBook Pro owners experienced much lower rates.
From Consumer Reports:
But this year's survey doesn't stop at the brand name—we also can see which product lines are more likely to require repairs. Not surprisingly, considering Apple's overall showing, two Apple product lines came out on top. Apple's MacBook Air has just a 7 percent estimated failure rate, while the MacBook Pro is almost as dependable with a 9 percent failure rate.
Consumer Reports does note that while they break less often, MacBooks tend to be more expensive to repair. Of MacBooks that break, 42% failed multiple times. The publication advised purchasing AppleCare+ with your MacBook for when it does break.
A majority of MacBook-owning respondents also reported complete satisfaction with their laptop, to the tune of 71%. This compares to just 38% of Windows notebook owners.
