Tim Cook is now one of Duke University's new Board of Trustees members

Apple CEO Tim Cook will help his old alma mater Duke University as a member of its Board of Trustees. The school named Cook as one of eight new members of the board on Tuesday.
Cook actually started his work on the board on July 1, and will serve a six-year term along with the other seven new members. Some of the other new members include NBA Commissioner Adam Silver and The Coca-Cola Foundation Chairwoman Lisa Borders. There are a total of 37 members on Duke's Board of Trustees, who are in charge of the school's educational mission and fiscal policies.
Cook attended Duke University after receiving his Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University in 1982. He studied at Duke's Fuqua School of Business and received his M.B.A. from that school in 1988.
