Tim Cook said to be hosting a fundraiser for Hillary Clinton on August 24

Apple CEO Tim Cook will reportedly hold a fundraiser for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton next month. Cook will host the event alongside Apple Environment, Policy, and Social Initiatives VP Lisa Jackson.

From Buzzfeed:

Cook, joined by Lisa Jackson, Apple's vice president of environment, policy and social initiatives, will help raise money for the Hillary Victory Fund, according to an invitation obtained by BuzzFeed News. The fund is a joint fundraising committee that contributes to the Clinton campaign, the Democratic National Committee, and 38 state parties. The fundraiser will take place on August 24, with an address to be provided to guests.

Cook hosted a similar event for House Speaker Paul Ryan and other Republicans last month. As with that event, Cook will throw the Clinton fundraiser as a private citizen. While Cook and Apple have been willing to offer financial help to both Democrats and Republicans, the company declined to furnish technology or financial aid for last week's Republican convention due to the views of the party's nominee for president, Donald Trump.

  • As a gay man, I suppose that Cook is a big fan of Hillary's Saudi Arabian financial backers. Posted via the iMore App for Android
  • They have a policy of supporting both political parties for some dumbass "balance" reason. So in essence, the issues and the politics don't really matter to Apple irrespective of what they say. They just support both parties equally as a business measure.
  • Where's the fundraiser for Trump then? The left is scared to death he will win...go Trump! Fire everyone in Washington and let's clean up America.
  • It doesn't need to be the presidential candidate specifically. Just someone from the Republican party. Cook did hold a fundraiser for the Republican Speaker of the U.S House of Representatives last month, I believe.
  • Dropped your books on the way to civics class huh? The people elect representatives to represent them in Washington. Which means the president cannot fire them. Moreover, not even if you get your wish to have the US governed by dictatorial rule, will you ever change the hearts and minds of a free people. Next you'll be wishing for ovens to dispose of those you disagree with right?
  • Let's start with bigots like you then. Sent from the iMore App
  • I'm starting to notice that people that are quick to call others bigots or racists, are the REAL bigots and racists... And yet the irony is lost on them... Sent from the iMore App
  • And their policy of executing gays.
  • We have a problem! They are both duds!
  • I find it interesting Apple decided not to service a customer because of the customers beliefs / views. Other companies aren't so fortunate to be able to make those decisions.

  • Hillary will try to continue the systematic destruction of America. And somehow Tim Cook agrees with this? He's obviously not as smart as people think, or, he's more interested in furthering his LGBT agenda than the good of America.
  • Or Trump is an *****
  • Systematic destruction of America? Sort of like losing 700k jobs a month, raising the unemployment to over 10 %, putting American automotive industry on the auction block, shutting thousands of businesses across the US and sending the nation from surplus into recession, degrading our credit rating, ignoring threats that caused the loss of the World Trade Center in NY along with 3 of my friends and the deaths of thousands of Americans looking for the mythical WMD did? Why do you fear Tim Cook again and why are you so frightened? Never mind. I already know why..
  • Nicely done. Sent from the iMore App
  • ignorant.. Trump will NEVER be president.

  • Hillary took millions in donations (for her foundation) from middle eastern countries that throws gays off buildings....you know she made deals with them....but yet is holding a fundraiser for her? Hillary is for herself, not lgbtq nor womens rights, but soley for herself. Good luck tim. You're gonna need it. Posted via the iMore App for Android
  • Hope you're enjoying that flat screen you're using made in China.
  • If a flat screen was made here in america, I'd be using that. Infact, it was made in korea. But at least I'm not using one made in the middle east. Posted via the iMore App for Android

  • Google is a bigger supporter of the democrats than Apple is.
  • But Samsung doesn't support either. That is most likely his point.
  • Trump is a useless, unqualified moron who is only playing on people's fears, and is in no conceivable way presidential material. Way to go, Tim. Trump would have us in multiple wars before you can spell Apple. Sent from the iMore App
  • Hillary is actually the "war hawk". Perhaps you should do some research on her.
  • Tim just wants to keep China closer for less pay and tax.
  • Hillary is FAR more likely to start wars than Trump. Posted via the iMore App for Android

  • I'm curious to hear what Milo's response to this might be.
  • Doesn't matter who becomes president. The corporations and 1%ers run things. Congress and Senate even have more power than the president. Citizens of America can have more power, but people just complain and don't vote. Just whine on the internet. Blame yourselves, not Hillary or Trump. Posted via the iMore App for Android
  • Vote for who? Every candidate is "1% and pro corporation". No, Seriously. Posted via the iMore App for Android
  • Alas, Tim, I know,. You're the head of Apple. What else can you do. At least throw a Trump Raiser under-wraps. Sent from the iMore App
  • Wasting his money. No amount of commercials or money raised is going to make most people change their minds. By now, most people have already made up their minds who they're voting for. He's trying to buy favors if the Hildabeast gets elected. Sent from the iMore App
  • It just shows Tim is not as bright as we may have thought he was... If he thinks Hillary Clinton cares about him, his company or his sexuality, he is mistaken... Sent from the iMore App
  • So trump is politically incorrect... So what! Who would you prefer someone saying "hey ***** your house is burning down, get up and put the fire out" or " hey your house is burning down, your an ***** for having a house. Thats why i burned it down" just saying.... Sent from the iMore App
  • Is that a joke? For real? I think they are millions more people in the world that needs help. What about a family father of three kids that lost his job and need to support a family?

  • It's now time to look somewhere else to get the phones and tablets I need. I will not support a company that has a political view. I have be in business for over 40 years. Not once will you see or hear anything political.
  • People who support trump and want to leave Apple for the crime of Tim Cook doing a fundraiser for Hilary Clinton and the Democrat's? You people are pretty stupid and sum up whats wrong with your country, I'll stay with Apple as they make great products like the iPhone, Apple's political beliefs are of no concern to me, Apple already did a fundraiser for the Republican party so what's people's problem? If I were American, I'd pick Hilsry as all day long over Trump who is s bigoted moron who should stick to business not politics. Sent from the iMore App
  • First of all I am a American. Second I have paid the price to said what I think and last Apple does not made the best products out there anymore.
  • Apple's products are no longer thr best but they are still one of the best. Just because you think Tim Cook is taking political sides, but hey it's your money but bear in mind, though, the iPad is still thr best tablet on the market and no Android tablet has toppled tr he iPad even though it's in a decline in sales, but it's still doing better than Android N tablets.
