New iPhone Ad Focuses on Finding, Figuring, and Fixing

No sooner did we mention Apple’s new “reading” themed iPhone ad, then another one caught our attention. Fix highlights Rocket Taxi for finding a cab, Tipulator for figuring out a tip, and MultiLevel for fixing a bookcase (presumably where your reading apps are sitting?)

Again, the ads are careful to show the entire experience from pressing a Home screen icon to launch the app to using the app, to getting answers and results.

“There’s an app for that” is clearly the message, and while some might say other platforms also have apps, Apple is showing no one (yet) has as good a user experience in getting, installing, and benefitting from mobile apps.

So the only question is, what theme — and which apps — will Apple highlight next?

(No one say “farts!”)

I wonder if apps that are featured in an ad see a significant bump in revenue? Can Apple use any app they want? Do they have to pay the developer at all?

  2. Amon says:

Or is this the strategy to beat the pre, showing off apps to say how much(!) iphone can do..

  3. JasonAnc says:

If we’re looking for real apps that make everything look “iphone-y”, I’d put Taxi Magic up there. You can just reserve the taxi direct from the touch screen and follow progress. That should show GREAT in the ads, am I right?

  4. Steve says:

Taxi Magic is not “iPhone-y” looking… it’s a poster child for “ghetto” apps.

  5. amanda says:

i do love checking out the other apps that iphone features on it’s phones during commercials – and there is one on every commercial that does NOT exist – and it’s making me crazy.

YUM YUM – what are you???? does anyone know what the deal is here???
