Apple Store Down — iPad Ordering, New MacBooks, or Just Aperture 3?

Apple Store Down

The Apple Online Store is down again, and it’s a Tuesday, and it’s Macworld — though sadly neither of those two things mean much anymore — and so our email boxes are flooding with heads-up and excited guesses about everything from iPad pre-ordering going live, to MacBook Pro updates, to… Aperture 3.

Yeah, Aperture 3. Sorry iPad fans and MacBook hopefuls, but Apple has already put up a PR and so far that’s it.

We’ll updated, of course, if there’s anything else.

It is a Tuesday after all, and Macworld…

    A disapointment by Apple is the new trend.

  2. Vernon Dozier says:

    It’s up and it’s nothing, LAME.

  3. iDavey says:

    It’s something for artist and designers…

  4. jtz5 says:

    Anyone know if Macbook Air will ever get an update or is iPad meant to be a replacement for Air?

  5. fastlane says:

    Meh’perture 3…

  6. bsforever says:

    @dog…spot on…never again after the ipad mega letdown will i let myself be taken in by apple again…i dont even know why this is news lol….apple store down..so what….we give them too much free publicity

  7. websyndicate says:

    Aperture is such garbage compared to Adobe Lightroom. You fools you dont know. Leave Aperture and never look back.

  8. Rene Ritchie says:

    It’s a great update for Aperture fans (I don’t use it, I’m fine with iPhoto).

    How can you be disappointed when you weren’t promised anything else?

    And if you were let down by the iPad, you’re not any of the developers or power users we’ve been speaking to lately. They’re all making cardboard cutouts and dreaming of next great app versions.

    Sheesh, you people are impossible to please! :p

  9. Tom Stephens says:

    @bsforever ‘ taken in by apple again’

    You were taken in by this website and the hundreds like it publishing foolish rumors as hard news, not Apple. It happens when inexperienced fans become ‘reporters’. Really they are just uninformed fans gossiping and spreading their hopes and dreams for new products — as opposed to real news reporters with hard facts. Blame them for taking you in.

  10. @Rene, I couldn’t agree more. These guys are impossible to please. Just keep writing for us, the people who want to read it.

  11. Maniacfive says:

    These comments are basically the same as the comments in the MacRumors forums from 2001, when Apple unvieled the iPod. They could be cut and pasted. Its really quite funny when you consider how that turned out.

    if its such a disappointment, why give it the time to comment?

  12. Rene Ritchie says:

    @Tom

    We publish rumors as rumors, clearly labeled as such.

    We take responsibility for what we write. You take responsibility for what you read.

    (And lets not forget “real news reporters with hard facts” about the iPad didn’t quite nail it early, did they… Engadget did ;)

  13. jtz5 says:

    For all those saying we bashers are complaining too much…

    what has Apple really done to the iPhone since the 2G back in 2007? They’ve only added features that already existed on other smartphones (copy/paste, better camera with video, faster speeds, more memory). They still have not added features that make Apple ahead of the curve.

    Please give us mutlitasking, FM radio, FULL Bluetooth support, hard disk access, etc.). Is that really too much to ask from Apple???

  14. jtz5 says:

    …and if you say the App Store, that is the developers giving us new features, not Apple.

  15. Joe McG says:

    I’ll never understand why Apple has to take the whole store down just to add an item. Could you imagine if Amazon or Newegg had to do this? The site would never be up.

  16. bsforever says:

    to digress frm the topic at hand lol…@tom they set a standard with the (wonderfully transformative) iphone & woefully failed 2 match that with a new product category that, supposedly, has been in development for almost a decade, we know they have the talent…but they just seem to have rested on their laurels with this ipad.

    that being said, i’m still a fan albeit a more questioning & skeptical..n yes @rene…apple’s conditioned me to be difficult to please as they’ve always set a standard..is it too much to ask them to adhere to it? :-D & one have no issue with sites like his…its good to dream LOL

  17. fastlane says:

    @Rene Ritchie:

    How can you be disappointed when you weren’t promised anything else?

    Because people are tired of wondering whether they should buy a new MacBook Pro now, or wait another month… and then another month… and then another month…

  18. Liam says:

    It’s Aperture!

  19. websyndicate says:

    LEAVE APPLE ALONE ALL YOU GUYS WANT IS MORE MORE MORE…..ITS NEVER GOOD ENOUGH LEAVE STEVE JOBS ALONE

  20. visi says:

    @websyndicate who are you? The boyfriend of Steve Jobs? Calm down.

  21. Baustin says:

    If Steve Jobs visited this site and read these complaints, he would laugh and continue to bathe in his profit margins.

  22. Joe McG says:

    @Jtz5

    I believe you are the one who is always complaining about the lack of full AVCRP support on the iPhone. Well, there is a new app in the app store called Bluetooth Helper which might help you. It let’s you double and triple click the play/pause button to change tracks. I haven’t tried it, but it is probably better than nothing.

  23. jtz5 says:

    @Joe McG-

    Thanks. I will check it out.

  24. jtz5 says:

    @Joe McG-

    It looks like this app will allow me to skip fwd/back tracks, but still doesn’t control the volume so my Sony Ericsson HBH IS800s still play at full volume and cannot be lowered via headphones OR iPhone. Still unusable headphones, but I appreciate developers trying to fix Apple’s obvious shortcomings.

  25. Joe McG says:

    @jtz

    If you are jailbroken, you might want to try Bluetooth Profile Selector in Cydia. It should allow you to turn on A2DP and turn off the remote control function of your bluetooth headset and let you control the volume at the iPhone instead. At least they wouldn’t be useless anymore.

  26. jtz5 says:

    Thanks. Not JB, but think about doing it pretty much everyday.

  27. Shops says:

    I totally disagree with almost all the junk written online about the iPad. Personally, I think the device

    looks inferior to Amazon’s Kindle and even the iPod Touch is better. So, it is good to see that online

    shops index ranked the best sites to buy an ipad. I

    do most of my shopping online today and I think the Kindle is cheaper and has better readability.

    Personally, I think a good book is better than either iPad or Kindle, but I think in today’s

    apple-obsessed world I am in the minority.
