HBO coming to iPad

Great news for HBO fans! In an interview with Mossberg, HBO Co-President Eric Kessler said that HBO subscribers will be seeing HBO Go on their iPad's soon.

In six months, HBO Go will be available to the channel’s paying subscribers at no additional cost through all major cable systems, on Apple Inc.’s iPad, on mobile devices and elsewhere.

In addition to this great news, Kessler also delivered the disappointing report that HBO and Netflix will likely not be making a deal, so don't expect to see HBO shows on Netflix for iPad anytime soon.

If you're an HBO subscriber, how excited are you to have access with your iPad? If you're not a subscriber, will this additional feature entice you to sign up?

  2. Webvex says:

How much are they going to pay me to watch HBO on my iPad? Um... No. Life is much, much better without cable, thank you.

If I could sign up in the UK I'd be there on day one.

We were just saying that HBO's app was disappointing. I thought it'd be too hard for them to get a good list of subscribers, so I thought providers, like Comcast, would need to be the ones to make an app.

  5. Sting7k says:

Webvex did you even read the story? Will it be on iPhone?

  6. Sting7k says:

Also I wonder what it means for people like me who technically aren't paying subscribers but con comcast into giving it to me for free every year.

  7. Yep, if the service will become available in the Netherlands, I will subscribe straight away...

  8. JasonM says:

I don't have cable or satellite because I feel it's overall a waste of money for me. Therefore, I'm not an HBO subscriber. However, I would love to be able to watch a lot of HBO shows, and I'd be willing to pay a little to do so. I'd love to see a deal where non-TV subscribers could subscribe only to HBO Go without having to subscribe to the TV station first.

  9. Confused says:

Ummm...wouldn't you rather just watch HBO on your large flat panel TV that you shelled out $1000 for, with stereo sound just like you've been doing all along?

  10. Tebowmania says:

Today isn't a great day for tipb. Not sure who would use this service

  11. JBaby says:

I got rid of HBO & Showtime because they were a waste of money since no one in my house watched them except for a couple of shows. HBO has missed the point altogether. Then again I don't just want to watch on the iPad I want to watch on my Mac too.

I do accept as true with all of the ideas you have presented in your post. They are really convincing and will certainly work. Still, the posts are very brief for newbies. Could you please extend them a little from subsequent time? Thanks for the post.
