Why Apple chose Twitter over Facebook

With the upcoming release of OS X Mountain Lion, Apple will be fully integrating Twitter social sharing across all of their included apps, as well as extending a developer API for 3rd party apps available through the Mac App Store. This follows similar integration in iOS 5 last year and leaves one huge, lingering question: where's the Facebook integration?

Apple agrees to disclose app privacy permissions before download or purchase

California Attorney General Kamala D. Harris announced today that Apple has agreed to better protect iOS users' privacy by disclosing the permissions an App Store app will require before a user downloads or purchases an app.

Apple Begins Countdown to 25 billion App Downloads

The App Store has been around for nearly 4 years, and it is approaching 25 billion downloads. (That's 25,000,000,000!)

122 million Macs have been sold to date, while the iOS platform has reached a staggering 316 million units since launch. iOS outpaced OS X after the first four years, but if that's not enough, iOS could have done it in the last year alone with 156 million supporting products sold in 2011.

Death Call vs Warm Gun: iPhone steampunk western game shootout

We all know what to expect in the western genre - cowboys, shootouts, bar brawls... Sometimes a slight twist is needed to keep things fresh. Two iPhone games, Death Call and Warm Gun, take the classic western feel and throw in a bit of sci-fi charm.

Add an unnecessary cog here, a tesla generator there, some ostentatious goggles, and blammo, you've got a steampunk game in the old west. Despite it being a pretty small niche, each title tackles the challenge very differently. US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration ditching BlackBerry in favor of iPhone and iPad

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) will soon be ditching their BlackBerrys in favor of iPhones and iPads. They will continue to support the BlackBerry platform until May 12, 2012 according to a memo issues February 3rd.
