Toys R Us to sell iPad 2 WiFi models starting April 17

The recent rumors that Toys R Us would soon start selling the iPad 2 appear to be spot on. A banner has just appeared on its site, showing the iPad 2, along with a store finder which reveals which stores will be stocking it. At the moment, that is the only official information available.

9to5 Mac has received a copy of a flyer that shows Toys R Us will be stocking the 16GB and 32GB WiFi only models at the price of $499 and $599 respectively and will also be carrying the iPad 2 smart covers; in polyurethane and leather variations. They also claim to have been told by a Toys R Us employee, that the iPad 2 will be in stock from tomorrow, April 17.

If any of our readers manage to pick up an iPad 2 from Toys R Us tomorrow, be sure to let us know in the comments!

Toys R Us to sell iPad 2 WiFi models starting April 17

Ill be in line tomorrow. Sadly I work at Best Buy and we're banned from buying the iPad2 for 90 from launch date.

uh are you american best buy? canadian bby employees have been able to buy from after about a week though we don't get to put holds on them any more than customers can (as in not at all) and we can't buy them while on shift less on a break.

@ skydiver
What? So like, you can't get it from the store or from any where? That sounds weird as hell. I would assume you can't get one after 90 days based on selling it and not getting a discount and etc. However, 90 days is beyond reasonable in my opinion and I'm sure others as well.

I really don't give a damn where else the latest i-Product is gonna be selling. It's not like it'll be any cheaper, and if I'm correct, it just spreads the stock a little thinner. If my po-dunk Canadian town has TWO Apple stores, the rest of North America shouldn't have much more trouble getting it than we do - hell, all online stores ships to at least the 50 contiguous states.

In my opinion, I feel like the apple products are spread to thin. Now even a toy store sells apple products. I feel like I own a toy rather than a well established electronic device. I think if appe goes to a smaller, cheaper iPhone, I will switch to android and other products because then apple has cheapened it brand that had so much integrity for greed. Shame on Steve jobs.

So you only buy Apple to be exclusive? I would think most buy Apple products due to their excellence of make and design. And with Apple offering more opportunities to purchase their products, thus increasing their sales, helps them earn more $$$ via volume keeping those products at attainable prices for you and myself!

Seeing iPad 2 rendered in the Toys R Us font must make Jony Ive's eyes bleed
If Myriad/Helvetica weren't mandated in Apple's previous reseller contracts, they will be now.

Ugh, so that's why Apple is waiting until Apr 25th to ship me mine. Damn you, Toys R Us! Damn you to hell! :)

Toys R Us definitely has the Ipad 2 today! I just bought a 32 GB wifi only model in black. The store sold out before I was even done paying!

Saw this article early this morning, went to ToysRUs (southeastern PA) and got my black 32GB WiFi iPad 2. They had five, all the same configuration. I was fourth of only six people in line just before the store opened. Nice!

Puente Hills,CA - Toys R Us is moving so they don't have them.
Monrovia, CA - Toys R Us can only reserve them but won't stock them.
Chino Hills, CA - Toys R Us out of stock
West Covina, CA - Toys R Us out of stock

I never said I did. I just don't like to see s product made by such a prestige company be cheapen and sold at toy stores. Plus, it makes stock too spread thin. And even if I did, it's always nice to know your exclusive sometimes

iPad and Toys R Us isn't a bad thing. It can be a valuable tool for helping kids learn. Heck they've been putting them to use at elementary schools. Now do I like kids playing with an iPad rather than real toys, No. But it just depends on the user and the need. I'm sure a parent will need to handle with care before throwing an iPad in a kids playpen or something.

i work at toysrus and beleive me, its a good thing they sell it.
toysrus is the most respected toys store in the us, and its not a store for kids to buy stuff, its a store for mothers to be our primary target.
in puerto rico, there is no apple stores. so this is very convenient for customers

Hello, i think that i noticed you visited my blog thus i came to go back the favor?.I am trying to to find issues to enhance my site!I assume its ok to make use of some of your concepts!!
