  • Not scared of Skynet *Yet* Also, Apple admitted they mine data too, they just fuzz it. I'll be the first to admit I despise the 'Google Now' thing where it says "I see you're already sitting in this restaurant let me show you reviews" or "You're at this store, here's the deals", but arguably, any closed source OS could do this without our knowledge. An Open Source one could too, but it would be harder to hide.
  • Yep, for sure. I wouldn't mind betting that they also buy mined data from those that they call out for actually doing it.
  • And if you use Facebook with location turned on it's been mining data forever. I now constantly get notifications saying "It looks like you're at XXXXX. Answer these questions about XXXXX."
