MapKit JS brings Apple Maps to the web

Hot. Damn.

That's all I could think as I tried out a demo of Apple's new MapKit JS. It uses webGL to bring Apple Maps to the Web. In style.

From developer.apple.com{.nofollow}:

MapKit JS brings Apple Maps to the web. This new JavaScript library lets you add interactive maps to webpages — complete with annotations, overlays, and interfaces to Apple Maps services such as Search and Directions — to enable rich interactions.

The pricing also sounds good. Maybe even better than Google right now. (Competition might drive that down for everyone.)
