Nomad's new $100 Base Station wireless charger is simply beautiful

Apple started supporting wireless charging with the iPhone 8, and continues to do so with all of its newer phones. Wireless chargers are available in a variety of shapes, sizes, and designs (opens in new tab) Some of them look more industrial than others, and then there's the newly-announced Nomad Base Station (opens in new tab), which is a beautifully designed wireless charging pad. The company is now accepting pre-orders for it, and it will officially begin shipping on October 1.

It has a modern design with a padded leather surface to place your phone, LED charging indicators, and an ambient light sensor that dims the LEDs at night. It has three high-power charging coils inside which allow it to charge two iPhones at once. There are also two USB ports on it, one USB-A and one USB-C PD port that has an 18W output.

It's set to debut at $99.99, which is no doubt higher than what we've seen on other wireless charging pads. If you want another option that offers a unique design, the iOttie iON wireless fast charger (opens in new tab) is worth considering, though do note that it only charges one phone at a time. There's also the JE Qi triple wireless charging pad (opens in new tab) that comes in at $36, though it has a more industrial basic design.

If looks really matter to you, waiting for the Nomad option is the way to go.
