Flappy Bird: Top 5 tips, hints, and cheats

Flappy Bird is the hottest game on the App Store — at least for the moment — and topmost on every gamer's mind is how to get a higher score than their friends... and without smashing their phone to pieces in the process. A fantastically terrible game, its design is derivative, its mechanics maddening, and its popularity no doubt the result of incredible rage-of-mouth marketing. Yet despite all of that (or maybe because of it)... Can't. Stop. Playing. So how can you get better at Flappy Bird faster? For some games it's simply a matter of finding the right tips, hints, and cheats. Flappy Bird, however, is so simple, that there are few to no ways to hack the system. But that doesn't mean you can't hack yourself...

Slayin: Top 5 tips, tricks, and cheats

Between its charming 8-bit look, thankless challenge curve, and pared-down controls, Slayin has found a sweet spot in iOS gaming. Players only have one life to make their way through as many waves of enemies and bosses as possible, while collecting treasure along the way. Your hero is constantly moving forward, weapon drawn - all you have to do is steer them left or right, and jump when appropriate. The gold coins gathered can be spent on equipment which, with any luck, will buy you another minute or two, but ultimately everybody falls to the unrelenting hordes of fantasy monsters. Over time, your heroics earn you fame points which can be spent on unlocking new heroes and new game modes.

That’s Slayin in a nutshell, but if you need some help getting into it, we’ve got some tips to make sure you’re hacking and slashing your way to level 100.

Clumsy Ninja and Zynga: Why we can't have nice indie game developers

Big fish eat smaller fish, and get eaten by bigger fish still. It's as true in the pond behind your house as it is in the corporate world. We've seen it happen over and over again since the inception of the App Store, where small developers get acquired by larger publishers. While that cycle of acquisition may be part of the natural life of a startup and certainly can lend some benefits, it can also be a complete innovation-killer. Let's have a look at both sides.

Flappy Bird: What's your high score?

Flappy Bird seems to have come out of nowhere to become the number one game on the App Store. With graphics that look straight out of Super Nintendo and gameplay that's as simple as it is insanely difficult, it's all anyone seems to be talking about right now, especially if they can get anything over a single-digit high score. Here's how it works — tap to flap and try to avoid the pipes. Touch a pipe and it's game over. No doubt the simplicity and difficulty is what's made Flappy Bird a phenomenon. Nothing spreads by word of mouth faster than the things we love to hate (or hate to love?) I currently max out at 3 (yes, 3!) but I've seen people get double, even triple digit scores. If you've tried Flappy Bird let me know — where does it rate on your love to hate scale? And, most importantly — what's your high score?

Injustice players get free credits, Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and whole DC cast get battered better than ever!

Injustice: Gods Among Us from Warner Bros. is one of the better mobile fighting games out there. Players get to take on the roles of numerous DC Comics superheroes like Superman, Green Arrow, and Wonder Woman and beat the tar out of enemy heroes and villains, all with simple and intuitive touch controls.

The mobile game’s impressive lineup of characters, sharp graphics, and surprisingly fair free to play structure have made it quite a hit on iOS and Android. In fact, Warner Bros. announced today that Injustice has been played over one billion times across the two mobile platforms. To celebrate that milestone, all players who log in to the game from now until the weekend ends will receive 30,000 free credits. Great time to try Injustice and unlock a character or two, wouldn’t you say?
