I agree that I'm not in love with the new maps app. I preferred google. I live in an urban area and use transit and found an app called hopstop that is free and fills the gap nicely. I live in Hamilton, and was quite surprised that it worked here. there is a nice sized list of communities it works in. I tested it with destinations I knew of and the program was very accurate (even giving bus route numbers).
