Spider-Man Unlimited was the last mobile game we checked out at E3 2014. This endless runner features the friendly neighborhood webslinger we all know and love in a familiar format. Players swipe left, right, up, and down to dodge obstacles and lay the smack down on whatever baddies you happen upon. Webslinging mini-games shift perspective in a way similar to Gameloft's other popular runner, Despicable Me: Minion Rush. With one-touch controls during these sequences, you've got to time your releases so you get through certain target zones.
Another one of the many games Gameloft had on display at E3 2014 was Asphalt Overdrive. Though there are cars on roads, and they're often doing the unlikeliest of barrel rolls after launching off ramps, this isn't quite an Asphalt game you'd expect. Instead of a full-bore racing game, Asphalt Overdrive is more of an endless runner, which has players quickly swiping to steer between lanes, trash competitors, and dodge obstacles.
Gameloft has been teasing Modern Combat 5 for weeks now through the occasional live stream and scintillating trailer. We got some time at E3 2014 to put our dirty little thumbs on it. The biggest (but far from only) change in Modern Combat 5 is that there are no more in-app purchases. Players won't be able to buy their way to the top and will have to earn their unlocks like everybody else. As always, Modern Combat sports bar-setting graphics with some particularly great water reflection and disorientation effects.
With just a few more days until the big E3 2014 video game trade show begins, the folks at mobile publisher Gameloft have released the first teaser trailer for Modern Combat 5: Blackout, the next installment for one of their most popular franchises.
Gameloft has just launched a new game called Rival Knights on iOS today. It's a free-to-play jousting simulator where players mount up in full medieval regalia, charge at their friends online or work their way through a single-player campaign, and try to smash opponents with a lance. Every round involves timing taps just as a cursor moves over the sweet spot in a target bar and dragging your lance to the chink in the armor in a limited amount of time.
Although Gameloft dropped some details on Modern Combat 5: Blackout back in June for Android and iOS, we've still not seen release of the game as of yet. Don't fret though, Gameloft is still working on things and have once again let it be known the game is well on its way to release and have now dropped the full title and story details behind the game.
Gameloft's The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hit the App Store today, offering plenty of web-slinging and smart-alecky heroism. The storyline expands on what’s in the movie, and has tons of unlockables, like the Symbiote Spider-Man costume, and butt heads with villains like Venom and Kraven the Hunter. There’s original voice acting throughout and an open world replete with rich 3D graphics.
Despicable Me: Minion Rush was just updated to version 1.6 and brings with it an all new Downtown area that lets you explore all your favorite places from the movie. You can also check out the new secret lair called the Bank of Evil and dress your minions in brand new costumes!
