Apple TV gets Wiimote! [Jailbreak]

Developer Tom Cool has successfully brought Wiimote functionality to the Apple TV by activating a custom BT stack that uses Apple TV's built in Bluetooth. So far the demo only shows a virtual representation on screen which perfectly mirrors the movement of the Wiimote, however it shouldn't be too long before full Wiimote or even iPhone/iPod touch controlled gaming is brought to the Apple TV.

Are you excited for some Apple TV jailbreak gaming? Leave us a comment and check out the video below!

Iconfactory teases Astronut for iPhone [video]

Astronut is a new iPhone game coming this holiday season from the Iconfactory, makers of Twitterrific, Ramp Champ, and other well-known iOS titles. Chock full of cosmic-scale, arcade-style action, Astronut promises 24 levels across 6 sectors, and full support for Apple's Game Center. Iconfactory's Gedeon Maheux told TiPb:

"I firmly believe Astronut is our finest entertainment title to date. We’ve crafted the game play to be fun and addicting, while creating the beautiful graphics users love to see on the stunning retina display on iPhone and iPod touch. We can't wait to get it into player's hands."

Halfbrick launches Fruit Ninja's "Arcade Mode"

Fruit Ninja is one of the most popular iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad games in the App Store. Up until now, on the menu select screen, there has been a mysterious banana-shaped mode, marked as "coming soon". Well soon is now and Halfbrick have finally revealed "Arcade Mode" -- 60 seconds, 3 power ups,

Double Points – This banana will award you double points for a short period of time. Criticals and combos count too, so rack up those fruit for some massive scores!

Frenzy – If you’re not content with the amount of fruit on screen, the Frenzy banana will take care of that. A mammoth amount of fruit will begin flying in, but you have to stay focused to slice it all!

Freeze – The entire screen will slow down, allowing for maximum accuracy and combo potential!

The Fruit Ninja update is available in the App Store now.

Video after the break and if you try Arcade Mode, let us know what you think!

Trainyard for iPhone - game review

<

p style="text-align: center;">

YouTube Link

Trainyard for iPhone combines simplistic graphics and design with puzzles that are not so simple. The concept of the game is to get all the trains into the correct stations without a collision. The first several levels will teach you the basics but after that, you'll definitely be scratching your head.

Evil Dead iPhone app coming soon to app store

Sam Raimi's horror cult classic, Evil Dead, is coming to the iPhone. For those of you unfamiliar with the series, Evil Dead is the first of three films starring Bruce Campbell and revolves around a group of college kids who visit an abandoned cabin in the woods only to unleash pure evil.

Currently there is not much in the way of details about the game except for the fact the characters look like Wii bobble-head avatars. A trailer has been released and if the game turns out anything like the trailer, expect to have a very polished iOS game. As a nice touch, the developer pretty much matched the game trailer with Evil Dead's original trailer and is very well done. View both trailers after the break!

Crush the Castle for the iPhone a strategy game

Crush the Castle for iPhone is a simple and fun strategy game. The object of Crush the Castle is to destroy buildings with trebuchets -- a fancy siege engine something like a catapult. You get the chance to be the attacking army and, as a twist, you can even build your own structures and destroy them as well.

The game interface is very easy to get used to. You tap the screen to launch the trebuchet and then again when you want the ammunition to be released. The you watch to see if your ammunition has hit its target. You get to pass the level when all of the occupants of the building have been killed. (Yes, this game is not for the pacifist.)

Reckless Racing HD for iPad - app review

If your looking for a fun, simple racer with awesome graphics, then Reckless Racing HD might be for you. Playing this game reminds of RC Pro Am Racing on the original Nintendo, or NES. The premise is simple; beat other racers to win the championship.

The game is played with an overhead isometric view. There are several different control options, but I enjoy the default which is gas and break on the far right and left and right turn arrow on the left, the control is spot on too.
