The Titanfall game franchise is coming to the iPhone and iPad in 2016

Fans of Respawn Entertainment's Titanfall sci-fi shooter game for the PC, Xbox One and Xbox 360 will be able to play a mobile-based spin-off game in 2016. Titanfall developers Respawn Entertainment will team up with publisher Nexon to release a series of smartphone and tablet games based on the Titanfall franchise.

Details about the games themselves have yet to be revealed. However, they will be developed by a new studio called Particle City, which was co-founded by Respawn Entertainment's CEO Vince Zampella. Particle City is also sharing the same office space as Respawn, which should mean that the mobile games will get a lot of collaboration from the main Titanfall team

"Our partnership with Nexon is momentous for many reasons," said Vince Zampella, CEO & Co-Founder, Respawn Entertainment. "Nexon's unrivaled publishing network and free-to-play expertise will allow Titanfall to reach new global audiences. And with Particle City, we are closely collaborating to create all-new standalone games with original gameplay experiences that expand the Titanfall universe to players everywhere."

Titanfall was released for the PC and Xbox platforms in March 2014 and received lots of critical acclaim. Respawn is working on a full sequel to Titanfall, but again details have yet to be revealed.
