This morning Twitter announced #music, a new app which allows Twitter users to post and listen to embedded tracks from iTunes, Spotify, or Rdio. By checking out the new #NowPlaying section, you can get a snapshot view of what's being listened to by the people you follow.

Apple close to deals on Pandora-like streaming service, hoping for summer launch

Apple may soon strike deals with two of the major record labels that would allow them to launch a Pandora-like radio service by this summer. While Apple seems to have made a deal that has them paying the labels less on a per-stream basis than Pandora, Apple’s deal also includes new ways of generating revenue, according to Paul Sloan of CNET.

Amazon launches AutoRip feature, offers free MP3 versions of purchased CD musc

Amazon has announced the launch of AutoRip, a service that gives customers free MP3 versions of albums that they have previously purchased through Amazon as CDs. This includes albums from the beginning of the Amazon music store back in 1998. While not all albums are eligible, Amazon says that more than 50,000 albums are ready for AutoRip.
