Another bug-fixing update is rolling out to Pokémon Go, this time remedying the login woes for those using a Pokémon Trainer Club account. Following version 1.0.2, using your Trainer Club account to login should be a much smoother process.
If you're unfamiliar, Pokémon Go allows users to login using either their Google account or a Pokémon Trainer Club account. Unfortunately, the latter option hadn't been working since launch, but this update should remedy that.
This is the second update to Pokémon Go in as many days, with the previous addressing a number of bugs, along with security concerns over Google account permissions requested by the app.

What would happen if i decided to log out and stop using my google email and start using this method, would my gameplay stay?
Nope. It would start a new game pretty much. Sent from the iMore App
I think I have a solution!
If you are trying to log in to a pokemon trainer's account that was previously created and you are getting an "incorrect password" error, your trainer's account must be re "verified" I know it sounds crazy but, I accidentally stumbled on to it tonight. go to https://club.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-trainer-club/activated and input your username and password. It will resend you an activation e-mail. Once you re "activate" your trainer's account via the link it will let you back in. Please let me know if this works for anyone else and if it does work for you please forward the info so more people can get back to playing!
