Showtime's standalone streaming service will launch on Apple devices in July

Showtime is following HBO in offering a standalone streaming service. The service will be available across Apple devices beginning in July, with a subscription price of $10.99. Much like HBO Now, the service will offer Showtime programming without the need for a cable subscription.

Naturally, there will be a new Showtime channel for the Apple TV, along with apps for the iPhone and iPad. In addition to on-demand content, Showtime will also offer customers live viewing, airing the current programming on Showtime's eastern and western channels in the United States. This allows viewers to watch things like live sports with just this service on any of their devices.
