Spotify has announced some big changes to its family plans, now scoring you up to six premium accounts on a single plan for just $14.99 per month. This follows in the footsteps of Apple Music and Google Play Music, making it more affordable for families. Previously, you could have up to five accounts on a plan, and it ran upwards of $30 per month for all of them.

The one big exception for this is that the plans are not being offered in Canada currently. New customers will be able to sign up to the new plan and take advantage of the price point, and existing accounts will also be converted to the new pricing structure. Does this excite you? Jared started off writing about mobile phones back when BlackBerry ruled the market, and Windows Mobile was kinda cool. Now, with a family, mortgage and other responsibilities he has no choice but to look for the best deals, and he's here to share them with you.

That's what I'm talking about! :-) Sent from the iMore App

AppleMusic already does that, 6 devices with same or different Apple IDs on the fam plan. I assume Spotify is just making a little security investment to keep their customers from going elsewhere. Sent from the iMore App

Pricing parity is great since their service is currently better Posted from my Nexus 6P

I prefer the way Spotify and Google Play Music handle families instead of the method Apple Music uses. For example, with Spotify I can just send an invite and they are attached and it is simple. With Apple Music you have to have everyones Apple IDs together in the same family sharing payment information and charges from the App Store and iTunes. I don't want my family to share everything, I just want them to share the music subscription... Sent from the iMore App
