Well. I use that source but in a different way.. I trndto find an app I'm interested in and will download it from the source and try it out. If it is worththe money and a decent app I will then go and buy it. I know they have lite versions of their apps in the app store but it's not the same. So there is a good reason to hve cracked apps. I mean how many people out there downloaded an app just to get pissed cause it sucked

the fart machine app was .99 and the guy who made it made a million dollars off it. apps cost next to nothing to make. if 100 people buy it you break even. the thing thats stupid is when you buy an app and it blows. its a waste of money. i would have easily paid a grand for the apps i have on my phone. i have all of netters anatomy apps which are $50 a piece.

i dont care if im getting something for free. theres been a billion downloads in the app store, no one is losing money. everything in itunes is a rip off. if you buy a single song for a dollar, you have to pay another dollar to make it a ringtone. things like this are retarded. couple that with apple not putting basic features on the iphone until the 3rd release. shit camera, no mms, no copy paste, no video camera.. come on. the phone costs hundreds of dollars. i wont lose sleep at night because some dev doesnt get my .99

Seriously people. We all pay for apps because when we pay, the devs keep making apps. If everyone stole the apps, the devs wouldn't bother to make anything (save for a few who kindly do things for free). Once they stop making them, then there won't be anything to get for free.

Me personally, I buy apps for my 3G S, and download some others (to try them out or whatever) and get free stuff for my old iPhone. I've been buying for the start, so I'm set in that department. I can't imagine how someone can just steal so much. But I suppose that's what people want things, do nothing to get things.

And by the way, not all apps that are 99c are crap. If you do research, you'll find a great number of 99c apps have been great. To name a few: CircuitStrike_One, iDracula, Pocket god, Peggle, Moonlights, Blimp, Let's Golf... The list goes on and on.

Rather than just assuming something is the way it is, do a little thinking and research before you spit out a reply to someone's opinion. (This is to those who don't think. coughCadilaccough)

American entitlement mentality at its worst. You do realize, don't you, that these apps cost 6.99 because they have to recoup the cost of self-aggrandizing entitled thieves such as yourself.

AH HA!! The jailbreak process solves this! Nevermind. I haven't noticed the problem being gone since jailbreaking it. OK, now we have ANOTHER reason to jailbreak our iPhones.

Is there a way to turn off the SMS reminder? Ever seen an incoming text on the screen, read the message without replying, then the phone goes off 5 minutes later, only to remind you that you havent awknowledged the first message? Its really annoying,

I would almost pay for an app that solves this problem. Please, I'm sure someone has figured it out.

CadillacEfromDC, congratulations and good for you for figuring out how to get everything you want for free. But you should at least have the sense to realize that when you do that, you're leeching off of the people who do pay. so instead of laughing, you should be thanking the people who do pay for supporting the developers and providing you all these apps to steal. lame.

Hi i just got my new iphone 3G for at&t and im still debating wether or not i should jailbreak my phone. Many people tell me that it's awesome and the best at first but then your phone starts crashing and freezing. Is that true? Is it really worthy jailbreaking or should i just leave it how it is? I don't want that to happen to my phone but i also want to see the things you can do when you jailbreak.

Just a helpful hint I thought I'd pass along if you don't already know- if you're having trouble after Jailbreaking your iPhone, it may be because you downloaded Kate from Installer. I don't know if this has already been discussed, but I had an issue with my phone tonight (the phone kept crashing and I couldn't dial anyone not in my contacts/couldn't see the keypad and other features). I uninstalled Kate but my phone didn't immediately get better. It was strange, I got an incoming call afterward and THEN my phone started acting normally again.

Hope this helps anyone having a similar issue.

PS- I vote for the NES emulator to be on this list too!

As Fred Smith said... yes, it is possible to get "cracked" apps for free. But why would you bother unless you had pistol-whipped someone in order to get your iPhone? Even $12 for an app isn't that much and that's the most that I've had to pay. Assuming you bought your phone legally it is just pathetic to get out of paying $1 or $2 for some apps for your phone.

CadillacEfromDC,

"we are getting everything u have for free. " I guess since you are from DC it is easy to justify theft. As for me, a $3.99 app is not worth my integrity

@The Don: Themes show up in the Winterboard app. As for the icons moving, that's very odd and i've never heard of it after a jailbreak.

I just jailbroke my fone. I have downloaded some apps. Every time I go into Cydia and come back out, my icons are moved around to different screens, even the ones on the dock.
What am I doing wrong?

Also, some of the themes I've loaded don't show up on the iphone. I have the 2.2 jailbreak and 16gb 3G iPhone.

I haven't used Status Notifier but I don't think I could go back to a non-jailbroken phone after using Intelliscreen. Knowing what's up at-a-glance is where it's at and Apple missed a real trick there.

@Russ: that landscape testing app had isssues at first with 2.1 and 2.2 when they first released. They have since been updated and have worked perfect for me.
I think QuickGold (quick app/contact launcher/dialer) should be added to this list, if not already. Along with iRealSMS (landscape texting/forwarding/reply without opening the app).
