Not happy about Facebook buying Instagram? Here's how to export your photos and delete your account!

For what it's worth, it's being reported that Instagram will continue to function as an 'independent entity'.

Kim Miller linked to you today on her blog, so I hope you don't mind I've added you on igarsntam because of it! That third photo is pretty rad!

I don't have a problem with facebook... I use it everyday, but I am still ticked off by this. I absolutely hate the whole facebook integration thing and i dont want to have every single thing i use online controlled by a "Big Brother". Someone needs to stop that company from its internet monopolizing plans.

Agreed; I had Instagram for a while, and while I like all the filters and I dig the whole concept, I just wasn't using it enough to justify letting it take up space on my phone. I deleted both it and FB and don't miss them.

If you absolutely refuse to use Instagram now, but liked the idea, check out EyeEm. It's basically the same idea as the old Instagram with a little different interface.

Hopefully all the pix of cats, self shots of tweens in the mirror and saved pix off mobile safari will go away......

Have it, never used it yet, deleting it
Anything that has to do with Facebook is of no interest to me

I like instagram and am so-so on FB. But let's see what happens and take action if and when action is necessary. Thanks for the export tip though, been wanting to backup my pics!

I love how people complain for everything, they give you games, platforms, integration, social content, personal online storage, all for free of course, yet Facebook is evil. I seriously try to find a flaw to Facebook over other 'equivalent' alternatives. Facebook is so superior, I guess only programmers will understand its quality.

you guys are saying instagram is over rated i have news for you Facebook is over rated. i see people checking for updates like they are important on the ferry at 8 am give me a break. i never had Facebook never will goes for instagram too

  • Ok, this tells me how you are getting some of those cool efetfcs I've been seeing in your photos. Guess I've got more stuff to explore, even though I'm just a hey, that's kinda interesting picture-taker and not a real photographer!

It's not that big of a deal to me... that's just a lot of cake ($$$) to spend on Instagram. WTF.

I don't understand why people are ranting about deleting their account because they were bought by Facebook. (Not on this site, but on various other sites across the web, the backlash is intense.)
I mean read the press release, Instagram will continue to be developed as a a separate application and will continue to have the option NOT to share photos to Facebook.

hi!,I like your writing so much! percentage we keep in touch more about your post on AOL? I require a specialist in this area to unravel my problem. May be that's you! Looking ahead to see you.

Color me confused about people being outraged at this as well. Instagram, before acquisition, was still a social network where anything you put on there was in the public domain. It has privacy settings that you can take advantage of if so you choose, but Facebook does as well.
Here's a surefire way to to keep "Big Brother" from watching you: don't use social networks. Boom.

I deleted mine as soon as I found out about this. I want nothing to do with Facebook or anything that has anything to do with Facebook. There are plenty of other apps and websites out there that are a lot better anyway.

Great site you have got here.. Its difficult to find quality writing like yours nowadays. I honestly appreciate people like you! Take care!!

I deleted my account because of the buyout. I understand that it's been said that Instagram will continue to be run as a separate entity, but I don't trust Facebook not to change things in weird ways I don't like and make it hard for me to figure out what to do about it or to do what it says it's going to do in the first place. This is also why I deleted my Facebook account.

I hate to sound stupid but if I don't know what Instagram is do I need to even be concerned with this acquisition?? I'm sure many of you will lol about this post!!!

Sup. Basically want to give a brief commentary and quotsien exactly where you grabbed your particular wordpress blog theme I will be establishing own internet page and sincerely really like your personal design.
