Asphalt 8: Airborne screeches its way into the App Store for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

Gameloft's hotly anticipated arcade racer, Asphalt 8: Airborne, is now available to download from the App Store for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Our very own Simon Sage has already spent some time with the game, and put it through its paces:

All in all, Asphalt 8: Airborne is absolutely awesome. It’s gorgeous, fun, balanced, and has all the right parts for an excellent racing game. If you’re tired of waiting for Real Racing 3 repairs to finish, and are looking for something a little more lighthearted, Asphalt 8: Airborne will scratch that racing itch just as well (if not better).

It's gorgeous, fun to play, and packs a fair download size so make sure you've got enough space on your device to snag a copy. It does cost only $0.99, but is subsidized by in-app purchases, so we'll reserve judgment on that until we hear back from real-life gamers on their experiences.

Time to burn some rubber! Take it out for a spin, then let me know what you think of it!
