If you're running iOS 7 on your iPhone or iPad, you can quickly and easily initiate a FaceTime video or audio call without ever opening the Phone or Contacts app. Instead, just ask Siri. Not sure what to tell her? We'll walk you through!
How to make a FaceTime audio or video call using Siri
- Launch Siri by pressing down and holding the Home button on your iPhone or iPad running iOS 7 or higher.
- Now say something like FaceTime Audio Heather. Obviously you'll substitute the name with one in your own contacts. You can also just say FaceTime and Siri asks you to specify whether you want a video or audio call. I prefer just cutting that step out.
- Wait for Siri to connect the FaceTime call.
That's all there is to it. If you've used Siri in the past to place phone calls, the process is exactly the same. Just preface your request with FaceTime instead!
