Apple's new commercial says iPad is... magically electric

Apple's new commercial says iPad is... magically electric

Apple has debuted the third commercial in their iPad is... series, this time saying iPad is electric. This follows delicious and musical. Qualities highlighted this time include cinematic, elementary, academic, full-size (zing!), presenting, bought, sold, fantasy, and the eponymous electric.

Ironman 2 is shown off via the Video app, streaming iTunes U podcasts make an appearance as does the Mail app, Ebay, Epic Citadel, and some others (can you name them all?)

While iPhone 4 commercials have skewed towards the nostalgic and feature-centric, Apple is keeping iPad commercials squarely aimed at the experiential (until they add cameras to iPad 2?)

Check out the video after the break and let us know what you think.

Zuckerberg: No Facebook app for iPad because it's not mobile

Mark Zuckerberg was asked about a Facebook app for iPad today during Facebook's mobile event, and his response to Mashable's Ben Parr was that the iPad isn't mobile. Parr countered that Apple would disagree with Zuckerberg, to which Zuckerberg said "well, sorry". Former Android lead and current Facebook mobile head, Eric Tseng then intercepted the question and said they were still working on their strategy for tablets and that, as a new form factor, it required a new approach. Parr extrapolates:

T-Mobile takes shots at Apple/AT&T in their newest TV ad

T-Mobile's latest TV add takes shots at Apple and AT&T alike, exclaiming that they now have "America's Largest 4G Network". They also pit their new myTouch 4G against the iPhone 4 in what seems oddly similar to the Mac vs. PC commercials of yesteryear.

Whether or not you believe HSPA+ is really 4G, T-Mobile is careful not take direct shots at the iPhone. It mainly focuses on AT&T's known network limitations (specifically the fact they don't allow 3G video calling). T-Mobile probably made the right decision there as I'm sure they would love to get their hands on the iPhone to help bolster their sales.

Check out the video after the break and let us know your thoughts on T-Mobiles shots at Apple/AT&T.

Evil Dead iPhone app coming soon to app store

Evil Dead iPhone app coming soon to app store

Sam Raimi's horror cult classic, Evil Dead, is coming to the iPhone. For those of you unfamiliar with the series, Evil Dead is the first of three films starring Bruce Campbell and revolves around a group of college kids who visit an abandoned cabin in the woods only to unleash pure evil.

Currently there is not much in the way of details about the game except for the fact the characters look like Wii bobble-head avatars. A trailer has been released and if the game turns out anything like the trailer, expect to have a very polished iOS game. As a nice touch, the developer pretty much matched the game trailer with Evil Dead's original trailer and is very well done. View both trailers after the break!

How to setup LockInfo for iPhone [Jailbreak]

LockInfo is a great app available to jailbreakers that once again fills a functionality gap -- this one making up for the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad's poor notification system. Until Apple implements a better solution, David Ashman has done an incredible job supplementing notifications with LockInfo.

Even though LockInfo is an extremely intuitive and powerful app, the setup can be a bit tedious. But when you get it right, you'll be in notification heaven! Hit the jump for a quick guide and a video with some tips for optimally configuring LockInfo.

*As a side note, LockInfo is $4.99 right now, as of November 7, 2010 - that price will go to $7.99, so if you've been contemplating, you may want to jump on the current price. There is also a 14 day trial if you would like to test it out first.

Genius Recommendations return to iTunes

Genius Recommendations return to iTunes

Back in September, when iTunes 10 launched, Apple introduced their new Ping social network. This was followed by iTunes 10.0.1 which added the Ping drop down options but also replaced the Genius sidebar with a new Ping sidebar.

Earlier this week, Apple made some server-side changes (which means we don’t have to update iTunes), and now Genius Recommendations have returned to the iTunes sidebar.
