11 years later, SimCity 4 hits the Mac App Store

Sim City 4 Deluxe Edition has once again arrived on the Mac and this time around, the game has been updated to support OS X 10.8.5 Mountain Lion and above. Originally released on the Mac back in 2003 and on Steam in 2010, the new release includes bug fixes, performance enhancements, and other updates such as native resolution support. As a package, SimCity 4: Deluxe Edition includes the best-selling SimCity 4 and SimCity 4: Rush Hour Expansion Pack.

Verizon giving 1GB of free data along with new LTE iPad activations

Turns out T-Mobile isn't the only carrier with some tablet data incentives this week, as Verizon has just posted its own promotion for some "free" data. While it doesn't approach T-Mobile's offering of a completely free 200MB for the lifetime of your device, Verizon is giving customers who activate a tablet on one of its "More Everything" plans an additional 1GB of data.

Getting error messages when opening up Numbers, Pages, and Keynote files stored in iCloud? Here's the fix!

Apple's iWork suite consisting of Pages, Keynote, and Numbers can store your documents up in iCloud and push them back down again to all your devices, iPhone, iPad, and Mac. However, sometimes when you try to open those files again, you get the dreaded "The operation couldn't be completed [LibrarianErrorDomain error 1 - Unable to initiate item download.)" or similar error. What it means is that the iCloud file has gotten lost in limbo. Luckily, what it doesn't mean is that your iWork file is lost forever. There's an easy fix!

If the iPhone and iPad have taught us anything it's that no one can predict what an Apple product will be like no matter how obvious it later seems in hindsight. Such will almost certainly be the case with the iWatch, or iBand, or whatever Apple ultimately calls their wearable, if/when they decide to ship it. But I do think there are real problems a wearable device can solve, and problems an Apple wearable is perhaps best positioned to solve.

Yesterday T-Mobile introduced a new Simple Starter plan that could get you in the cellular door at $40/month, and today they're shaking things up again by reducing the price of the iPad + cellular to match that of their Wi-Fi-only siblings.
