Well known accessory manufacturer “Belkin” has announced that it will soon be shipping the first official third party accessories based on Apple’s Lightning connector cable. The first accessories will be a rather innovative charge and sync dock and a car charger.
The Dock+ has just arrived on Kickstarter and it is looking to fill the void left by Apple’s failure to release an official dock for the iPhone 5. Dock+is more than just a dock for the iPhone 5 too, it also will support the soon to be released iPad mini as well as the latest generation of iPod touch.
Apple decided not to make a dock for the iPhone 5, leaving that potential market wide open to third party accessory makers. iPhone5mod is hoping to fill that particular void with the Flash Lightning Dock for iPhone 5. Not only does it include an Apple-like white dock, but an optional Lightning cable that actually glows.
One of the big disappointments for many when the iPhone 5 was released was the news that Apple would not be making a dock for their latest creation. It has been a big concern to many who like to have their iPhone 5 standing upright by the side of their bed or on their desk with easy viewing distance. Thankfully we now have an option to get a dock for the iPhone 5 and its called the Lightning Dock.
Later today, Apple will hold a keynote where we expect to hear all about the new iPhone 5. One of the rumored changes that Apple should announce is the new mini dock connector which takes the place of the current 30 pin connector that has been on all iOS devices since 2007. The new 9 pin dock connector will supposedly be known as the “Lightning” connector according to a report from 9 to 5 Mac.
The Foundation Dock has arrived on Kickstarter and looks to provide a docking solution for your iPhone that is quite different to anything else currently available. The dock has a very strong flexible cable which is there to allow you to easily position your iPhone in any viewing angle that suits you. It can be twisted and bent into just about any shape and locked into position to give your iPhone the ultimate support.
If you like quirky designs and love your iPhone then this particular Kickstarter project may be just up your street. Say hello to Bloombox, no that’s not a typo, it’s a play on words to pretty much describe exactly what this project is about. It’s first and foremost a charging dock for your iPhone but also offers an acoustic amplifier through It’s simplistic hollow square framed design along with a place to plant a few bits of greenery.
Consigned to having to charge by cable rather than waste money on a dock that'd give me fits, I fell into a deep depression, haunted by the white iPhone dock cables I had strewn about the house.
