Here it is, the Native Union Moshi Moshi Retro POP Handset for iPhone! In case it isn't completely obvious by the video up top or the picture below, the POP is a really cool, really retro receiver that plugs right into the iPhone's -- or any device's -- 3.5 mm headphone jack.
Every week a few of us from team TiPb will bring you our current favorite, most fun and useful App Store apps, WebApps, jailbreak apps, even the occasional accessory, web site, or desktop app if the mood strikes us. As long as they’re iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch related, they’re fair game.
To see what we picked, and to tell us your pick, follow on after the break!
The ODM PH-1 accessory combined with its pH Meter companion app brings pH measurement to the iPhone and iPod touch. The accessory plugs into the iPhone and has a reader attached for taking the pH and temperature readings. The companion app records the readings, as well as the location, time, and date of the readings.
The could be a fabulous little kit for scientist working in the field for environmental testing, or even for commercial pool maintenance. Another great use would be in the science labs of schools - the labs could have a handful of the accessories and students could take turns using their iPhones and iPod touch's to take readings for their projects.
Check out the video above, where Rene interviews the developer and creator of the ODM PH-1 precision pH Meter and receives a demo.
In contrast to Apple's white dock, this cradle is matte black. It is very sturdy which allows you to easily use and tap on your iPhone without the risk of knocking it over. With dimensions at about 4"x2.5"x1", the Seidio Desktop Charging Cradle isn't tiny, but it isn't bulky either. The cradle connects to your computer via micro USB and iTunes does recognize when you dock your iPhone.
My favorite feature of this dock is that it is compatible with cases. There is a removable plate included with the cradle; this ensures that your iPhone fits properly in the dock regardless if you're using a case or not . I use an Apple Bumper on my iPhone 4, and it fits perfectly with the plate removed. If the plate is attached, my iPhone 4 fits nice and snug in its naked state. Although the Seidio Desktop Charging Cradle is advertised for the iPhone 4, I tested it with my 3GS, and it fit just fine with the plate accessory removed.
If you're looking for a charging dock for your iPhone, I recommend checking this one out. In addition to being a stylish way to charge my iPhone, I also enjoy having a slideshow display on it at the same time. The Seidio Desktop Charging Cradle is available in the TiPb Accessory Store.
The Dooney & Bourke Pouch for iPhone is a great case for the lady who is looking for something fashionable and practical to carry her iPhone in. This multifunctional pouch works as both a wallet and iPhone case.
This pouch is much larger than your average case and is designed to not only carry your iPhone, but replace your wallet. The inside flap has 3 card slots and there are pockets in the front and back of the pouch. The main compartment is big enough to hold additional items with your iPhone, such as make-up, cash, and earphones. Because the pouch is bigger than the iPhone, it is also possible to have another case, like a bumper or skin case, on your iPhone and it still fit inside the pouch. For some, the extra large pocket will be a welcomed feature, and for others, it will be a frustrating amount of empty space. The Dooney & Bourke Pouch is also equipped with a leather wrist strap, but it is easily removable if you prefer to toss the case into your purse without the strap.
The exterior of the Dooney & Bourke Pouch is made out of a durable nylon material with leather trim. The coffee color is dark brown and branded with large "Dooney & Bourke" lettering. The black and gray version is gray with Dooney & Bourke's signature "DB" in black. The interior is lined with a material that isn't exactly soft, but won't scratch your iPhone either. The flap over the large pocket magnetically and securely snaps closed.
I find the Dooney & Bourke Pouch to be a great option when I'm looking to minimize the amount of items I'm carrying around. If I'm wearing an outfit without pockets and do not wish to carry around a purse, I grab this pouch, add my ID, credit card, random cash, and iPhone, and head out the door.
Looking for a slim, stylish pouch for your iPhone 4? The Keru Pocket Pouch may be exactly what you're looking for. Its super trim form will fit nicely in your pocket and the designer print will make you look good.
The biggest appeal of the Keru Pocket Pouch is how slim it is. Your iPhone will fit perfectly. So perfectly, in fact, that without the pull ribbon, it would be too difficult to remove your iPhone from the case. Only a small portion of the iPhone is exposed on the top, and the case hugs it in a way to prevent your iPhone from being bumped or removed by hand. Only about 1 inch of ribbon sticks out of the case for quick and easy removal.
The exterior of the case is made from leather and is designed using a process that allows museum quality prints without sacrificing any of the performance. The interior is lined with a felt material that is mediocrely soft. I'm not worried about scratches, but it's probably the least soft liner I've felt on a case.
The Element Case Vapor Pro is the Lamborghini Reventon of iPhone 4 cases -- cold carbon-colored aluminum chassis over space-aged, antenna insulation. And this year is works as good as it looks; on my review unit I didn't drop a bar in over a week of constant testing. Not one, not ever. So while it may still look like a hypercar, it performs even better.
There have been other improvements to the limited edition as well. The bottom has been cut wider to allow for a greater range of dock connectors. An extra portly Monster Cable still might not fit but I had no problems with any recent car or A/V connector I threw at it.
The special edition comes in a box that includes the bumper, a carbon-fiber printed adhesive back protector, 2 extra screws (very welcome), a certificate of authenticity, and a newly re-designed key for screwing the case on and off. Now, instead of a simple bent bar you get a very nice keychain that twists open to reveal the tool. Since it takes a tool to put the Vapor Pro on or take it off, having it handy is paramount should you want to switch to a charge case, put it in a car or A/V mount, or just clean it.
But the Vapor Pro has never been about convenience any more than it's been about economics. Like the Reventon, it's purely about possession. If you want a Vapor Pro, you know it.
The Belkin headphone splitter adapter is a great accessory to have on hand for long trips or nights at the coffee house. Its purpose is simple. It allows two people to plug their own headphones into the same device. This is great for a long flight where you and another person may want to watch the same movie on an iPad or iPhone.
