Blackberry Clones iPhone SDK Roadmap Event!

No, it’s not Deja Vu. No one has reset the Matrix (we think…) It’s just another Apple follow-along. To paraphrase Bertrand Serlet: Waterloo, start your photocopiers!
Not content with merely iCloning the iPhone look with the Bold or touchscreen with the Storm, during the Blackberry Developer Conference today, RIM basically repeated Apple’s iPhone SDK Roadmap Event announcements from back in March, note for note.
App Store? Check. Push Notification Service? Gotcha. Integrated Development Environment? Why not! iFund? App-solutely!
Scott Forstall, was that just the sound of you flinging your iPhone 4G through the screen of your 30″ DisplayPort Cinema Display? I think it was.
Check out the live blog now at Crackberry.com, and if you miss it, they’re sure to have all the news and roundups shortly thereafter.

BB has always had push so not sure how that is following them, unless I’m not understanding it.
This is a push notification service to push out badges (like email status updates) to 3rd party apps. Same thing Scott Forestall announced for the iPhone back in March, and Apple blew the deadline for in September.
Can RIM deliver it first?!
Maybe this will light a fire under Apple to finally get it out… maybe?
Since RIM already has background processing, I don’t see this being an issue for them to get out first.
Thread was started about this in the forums…

Did they show off their ‘Get a RIM’ ads yet?
Apple better get Push Notification soon. This can potentially be embarrassing on Apples part.
The idiots who run this website believe the iPhone was the first touchscreen phone with a web browser and screen orientation switching. They clearly have little grasp of reality or were too young to notice the evolution of the Pocket PC PDA to phone, the Palm’s evolution to phone and the Blackberry too. The iPhone didn’t change anything.
To say the iPhone didn’t change anything is ignorant. Yes, it wasn’t the first touchscreen phone, but it was the first touchscreen phone to get people thinking. Notice how much emphasis on touchscreen devices there has been since the first gen iPhone? Notice how every new touchscreen coming out now is also being labeled as the so called “iPhone killer”. The iPhone wasn’t the first, but it was the first to do it right.
“The iPhone wasn’t the first, but it was the first to do it right.”
Exactly.
Jealous somewhat Aron? Your stuck on a 2 year contract with a HTC or something huh?
you guys are idiots. Iphone looks fukin nice. Beatiful actually. That’s why it got soooo much attention. But the software is exactly like the mac, basicly really crapy. Mac sucks, and so does the iPhone software. I had to write this message for the seccond time cause my iPhone froze. It is extremely saaad. Apple should step up and make some decent software or else this phone sucks and will continue to suck and no I’m not gonna buy the next one.
Yea. Mac software sucks. Are you a fucking retard? I hope you don’t buy the next one. Morons like you bring the community down.
I’m a little late here, but 1) the Iphone and the Storm look completely different. I didn’t know the Iphone had 4 buttons, nor did it have edges like those found on the Storm. I didn’t know the Stoem had a ring around the entire device either 2) Apple wish they had push like Blackberry has PERFECTED! Not to mention, what you think RIM didn’t have this planned until March? LMAO. This article is a joke.
I saw some really nice Blackberry and iphone clones on maynex.com and they even have TV, WiFi, and dual sim card holder in them. My friend has one of them and she save a lot on phone bill due to the dual sim alone!
