Sorry, guess I got used to being told by people on other threads in other places that I don't NEED more than 8GB or 16GB because they don't so how could I. I've noticed this in particular when I point out the Pre should ideally have a mem slot or an option of more than 8GB. I got the same grief when I complained about the 4/8 capacity of the OG iPhones.

I don't necessarily think Tom was saying "others" don't have a need for 32GB and HD... I think he was merely stating his opinions of what HE wants or doesn't want. The blog question was "But we kind of want 32GB in our iPhones, right?"

I only mention it because I find it very puzzling why I often receive similar replies when I post my opinions after being asked for them.

HD may be worthless to you, but its not to others. VM is a great idea, and multitasking is essential, IMO. And while YOU may not fill the measly 8GB, there are those of us who carry 30GB of music at all times. I want bigger better faster more and I want it this June

I wouldn't mind sticking with an 8gb model if the next gen had more powerful graphics, a faster processor, more ram and better battery life! I don't need all that but one or two would be better than more memory for me!

I could care less about HD or more memory. I want them to utilize the memory as virtual memory so it can allocate space at will to prevent crashing and allow background apps. HD is worthless on it and while I use over 2gb of data a month with my crash prone safari I haven't come close to filling my measly 8gb I have

A microSD slot is no thicker than a SIM. Finding room in the phone could be tough though. Looking at some of the tear-down photos ( http://techrepublic.com.com/2346-13636_11-210341-1.html ) shows just about no place readily available.

But you also have to get around Mr. NO!. He does not want anything on this phone that he does not personally approve or which gets there via anything but Itunes or an approved app.

A microSD card that you can plug into your computer and load directly might allow you to (Horrors!) copy a song. Or (Apocalypse!!) load an app NOT from the app store!!

They wouldn't be buying up all the memory if they planned to give you any user accessible options.

Personally, if a microSD slot prevents it from getting thinner, then I am all for it. Its thin enough I would LOVE 64GB.

I would be most excited if they upped the iPhone to 32 GB. However @Sam, I don't see a need or a want for slot loading expandable chips. I think the housing would take up more space and prevent the phone from getting slimmer, and to have a little hinge on the side wouldn't be so elegant.

Let's juice the ram, boost the res, slim down, and go up to 32 gb, I'm sold! But I would be either way!
