iPhone Wins Gadget of the Year, Smartphone of the Year at Engadget Awards
Yep, the iPhone has won Engadget's Gadget of the Year and Smartphone of the Year awards, not just from the editors, but from the readers as well. That's quadrupal honors for those keeping score at home.
For the Engadget Awards in general, the editors also picked the unibody MacBook, and iPod touch (handheld and portable), and gave the BlackBerry Storm the worst gadget honors. Readers, meanwhile went far more Apple, with for iMac, unibody MacBook, 24" LED Cinema Display, the iPod touch (for both handheld and portable), and Time Capsule for storage. Zune was worst gadget.
TiPb's own Editor Awards and Reader's Choice Awards were handed out on New Year and Oscar Sunday respectively.

It funny : every time I read something about Apple over there they seem to be bashing it or bashing readers who support Apple !
Time for us long-time Apple users (who have known since the very beginning) to gloat once again and say "we told you so!"
I wonder how many heads will be removed from their @sses this year.
APPLE "fanboys" are the ones always bashing every non-APPLE produced product... kinda silly IMO.
Anyway, I think the awards were somewhat biased. I don't own a Zune but I def don't think it deserving of the "worst gadget of the year" title like I said in the post people just like to hate on MS products.
@Ana:
It was Microsoft people who created Apple "fanboys." They've been obnoxious, arrogant, bragging, nerdy snobs bashing us Apple people and telling us we use garbage since the late 80s. Where were you? Ahhh, not born yet. You weren't around for that, were you? Well, a little history lesson for you today, I guess. Now you know how it all came to be.
I’m soo sorry to hear that! Poor you Steve! Um yeah....awesome excuse for being arrogant, snobby and narrow minded.
Excuse me for still thinking that hating on every product because it’s not an APPLE product is childish and obnoxious, like you
IMO of course.
BTW I was born in 87 but thank you!
Haha, sounds like Steve has a chip on his shoulder.
Not every "fanboy" bashes every non-apple product.
I was looking forward for the Blackberry Storm to come out, looking forward to Palm Pre and Windows 7 to come out as well. The way I see it, more competition just keep pushing Apple to come out with better product and improve current ones.
I like Apple overall because they have good products, because I've tried and tested other available products and found that most of the time, Apple products seem well thought out and do in fact work as expected. For ex I have tried blackberries, win mo devices, nokia e series smartphones, motorolas and sony ericson decides; and found that without a doubt, the iPhone has been so far the best fit for me. Although I have to say not I'm not a fan of every single Apple product (Ex. Apple Tv, Apple mighty mouse, etc)
I agree with ana, the Zune 120 beat the iPod classic on cnet when they matched them against eachother buy it cause it's a better product not beacuse of who made the thing
I both love apple and hate apple. Wonderful and beautiful products. Fun and delightful to use, but limited in funtionality. Now I wanna get a windows mobile after using iPhone 3g for a month. I'm not a basic user but a power user. I want my iPhone to do everything , but it failed in every part.
