besides, you don't "push" a button (even virtual button) to capture the picture on the iPhone, you "Release" the button (lift finger) to capture the picture. so that one should be shot down immediately...

Have you guys ever heard of Gemstar? Now there's a company that just makes millions on really trivial patents. Btw it's standard practice to wait a few years before sueing, that way the cash haul is huge, it's based on each phone sold and a percentage of the price, so if they win it will be much more than 34 million, based on iPhone sales

I don't think the patent only says just what is paraphrased above. However if all of the above company have had to pay then so does apple. If ALL of those companies have not had to pay then apple should not be subject these frivolous lawsuits. As far as the time frame, maybe it took that long to get to court? Technically, there is no physical button one presses in order to take the picture on the i phone. So "patent 0010" should be disregarded. But other than that Apple better pay up.

I hate patent squatters. you'd think there should be a usage clause attached to patents. meaning you have a certain amount of years to use, or license your idea or the patent until you lose the exclusive rights to that patent. This is ridiculous.

Reading those four patent descriptions, it looks like St Clair basically owns digital photography as a whole. There isn't a digital camera in existance that doesn't use those four descriptions to take and/or display photos. Why has it taken almost 3 years to catch up with apple?
