Apple TV: Everything you need to know

Everything you need to know about Apple's Apple TV set top box, including movie and TV rentals, Netflix streaming, and AirPlay video

Apple TV (2010) has been completely redesigned to use Apple's mobile iOS operating system and components -- just like an iPhone or iPad. The tiny box packs a wallop, however, with easy HDMI connectivity for your living room LCD or Plasma HD TV, and super simple, rent-only access to the iTunes Store, streaming-only access to your home iTunes library, and Internet access to podcasts, YouTube, Netflix, and other "channels" including news and sports like MLB. With AirPlay you can also stream media and mirror the screen right from your iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad!

Rumors of a next generation Apple TV have persisted for some time, most notably one that would support 1080p video, but no release date has been made available.
