What Were You Using Before the iPhone?

Inspired by Gruber, who was rocking the Nokia freebiephone, on the eve of the original iPhone's 2nd birthday, we want to know:
What were you using before the iPhone?
(I was on a Treo 680 that crashed almost as often as it successfully made or received calls).
Update: Jeremy reminds me we have a huge thread on the forums about this as well. Love. Up.

Samsung Juke.
It was a big attention getter with the bitches.
Treo 650
HTC Mogul
iPhone 3G
iPhone 3Gs
I was using the Sony Ericsson Z710i.
I didn't even have a smart phone. I had a Sony Ericcson s710a. Neat little phone, best thing about it though was the LED "flash." Made for an excellent flashlight.
I had a k790 Sony Ericsson, and now i miss his camera!
Samsung Stripe! Haha it was a joke of a phone. Ah good times
The T-Mobile Shadow (Ran off Windows mobile).
Piece of garbage.
Treo 750. Upgraded from the ultra crappy and thousand year old Palm OS of the 700p, tho WinMo 6 wasn't much better.
Taking my iPhone with me to the grave...
blackberry curve havent looked back
RAZRs and KRZRs.
Had Email, Web browsing, MMS, SMS, Music, and a ok camera.
Had No Apps, no speed, no smarts, no class.
Nokia 3650!! Pretty old :)
No smartphone/mediaphone for me...LG PM325 on Sprint. I had to wait until November for my contract to end though, so wasn't an early adopter. Still using the original iPhone and loving the 3.0 Os upgrade, feels like a new phone with the new features.
Motorola Razr2 v9. Good phone, but nothing like the iPhone!
Telus branded HTC Iris. AKA the s640. Nice WinMo 6.0 smartphone. Had lots of flaws tho'. Happy to be on iPhone 3GS now ! :)
A WHITE T-MOBLE G1 PHONE
I was using a Treo 680 (had same problems as you) and I also had the problem that it would never sync correctly with MissingSync!
Blackberry Pearl
It made me cry every day to two...
Blackberry Curve 8800
To be honest...I don't remember. I had the original iPhone, then iPhone 3G, and now it's iPhone 3GS.
Samsung Blackjack (winmo 5.1)
Treo 680
I had a prepaid AT&T phone that was over 10 years old, then I switched to T-Mobile and got the Sidekick 3 in 07 then later cancelled and went on Verizon. I had a cheap ass Razr phone ha afterwards I had the LG Dare in 08 for like two weeks then I returned it and purchased the iPhone 3G back in September. I didn't have to pay a cancellation fee because my contract was just about up anyway.
Was rocking the iPhone 3G and the Blackberry Bold. I still use the Bold as well as the iPhone 3GS. I need my Crackberry fix as well as my iPhone fix.
Sanyo 8400... rock solid midp2 phone
The Helio Ocean.... don't call it a phone ;)
I was using 2 tin cans connected by a string. My reception is better now that I use an iphone, but I have more dropped calls...ty AT&T ;-p
Orange C600, Orange M2000 and the T-Mobile Vario 2....
Like any technology it was good at the time. But Microsoft just wasted their position - msmobile seems to be run by tech heads, yes you can send an email but with a stylus????
Verizon LG Dare & My wife used Verizon EnV2.
I had a Moto Q, BlackBerry 8830, BlackBerry Curve and then the BlackBerry Storm... iPhone is the best one yet...
My bad, Pre-iPhone was the horrible extremely buggy Windows Mobile Motorola Q
Samsung BlackJack II, and before that a Blackjack.
Blackjack (WinMo 6.0) - now have iPhone 3G
I was using a Sony Ericsson P1i - the amount of times I hacked it to make it look like an iPhone was unbelievable lol.
I was on a BlackBerry 8300, loved the phone, but it was starting to be dated (sad age we live in, I know).
I switched mainly because I got a good deal on the iPhone, I could have lived with the BlackBerry.
Helio Ocean!! She was a good little phone.
I had a Blackberry Curve 8320. I must admit I miss it sometimes, but I do love my iphone. No going back for me! :)
Motorola RAZR V3i on Cingular. Lost it on the side of a highway while keeling over puking my guts out. Went and bought an 8GB 2G iPhone the next day!
A long line of Windows Mobile devices....glad I have moved away from the platform.
Casio EM-500, Casio E-200, HP Jornada 568, IPAQ 1910,IPAQ 4150,Ipaq 2750, Imate K-Jam,Treo 750,HTC Touch Cruise,US HTC Touch Diamond
Treo 700p and a Treo 650p before that. And I waited an extra 2 years for Palm to give me a significantly improved Palm product running a Palm OS. But they failed miserably and my wife I went over to the iPhone, leaving Verizon along the way.
The original Samsung Blackjack & a Palm Treo 750. Now after having an iPhone & a 3g I don't think I could stand to go back to a Window's Mobile phone! Their way to complicated!
Blackberry 8100 Pearl...and haven't missed it once!
I had the blackberry curve 8330 with verizon, and i switched to the iphone 3gS I havent been able to put the damn thing down :D
samsung blackjack 2 on cingular/at&t. nice enough hardware, but man winmo sucks. a lot. before that, a moto razr x3xx on cingular.
Went from a Treo 300 to the 600 the 650 to the 700p then dumped Sprint for ATT and a Blackberry Curve. It is now iPhone forever.
I had a Treo 700p that was buggy as hell, then got the AT&T Tilt as a stopgap until the 3G came out.
Treo 750p.
That thing seems like such a piece of junk after iPhone!
I had an old Blackberry (don't even know the model number). Piece of crap. I haven't looked back since.
I do wonder what I did before the apps came aboard. I can't imagine living without them. :)
I was using a Blackberry 8830 on Sprint before I migrated to the iPhone. Now that I've been with the iPhone since the 2g, I can't even imagine going back to any other device. I feel pain just thinking about having to use any other phone. Not to mention that Sprint is a nightmare of a carrier where I live. I won't give up my 3gs for anything but the next the next iPhone.
Nokia e90 communicator, too many features but also too s l o w. 1min for the email app to load!
Curve 8300
A Mio A701 Windows Mobile powered pocket pc. As a phone was just complete rubbish when compared to the iPhone 3G.
Was on a Nokia N82 feels so cheap and plastic compared to my iPhone!
Blue Blackberry Pearl. They only thing I really miss is the color!
I had the storm prior to the Iphone. Wanted to switch for a while but was worried about AT&T's network. I've been nothing but amazed. I'll never go back to another phone again and AT&T is great where I live.
Blackberry Curve. I bought the 3G last year and 2 weeks ago bought the 3GS. I have a Blackberry Bold as well. I am ditching the Bold and have finally decided the iPhone 3GS does everything I need it to (work and personal).
Oh, I just bought an external battery pack. Lovely. I haven't cracked open my ThinkPad laptop in months.
A BlackBerry Curve
Treo 700p. Worst POS ever. They promised a maintenance update for 1 year and when it came out, it bricked my Treo. What a joke of a company! I would never use a Palm Pre even if you gave it, $200 cash, and a stripper too.
Well, perhaps I'll take the stripper actually....
I had the Samsung Blackjack II which I thought was a pretty cool phone - when it worked. I pretty much used it for calls, texting and the occasional email correspondence. Now I have the iPhone 3G and I can do everythin on it while away from the office or even on the golf course. I'll never own another Windows Mobile device!
Treo 750 (650 before that). I was a Palm girl from way back...good God though, how I ever put up with that tiny screen reading web pages (not that many displayed) or ebooks, I'll never know!
Almost forgot the name of it! haha. Verizon's 6700, by UTStarcom. Wife and I each went through two of them (all off ebay) waiting for something thin with wifi and a decent keyboard. Don't care about the keyboard anymore. Wife loves the iPhone too.
TytN II
Treo 650. Constant resets, phone quality was very poor. Have never looked back.
Motorola Razr then Treo 650 (for a hot minute..it was defective and returned) to iPhone 2G. Feeling 3G[s] in a few short weeks...
First I had the Sierra wireless flip qwerty phone until I cracked the screen. I then "upgraded" to the killer Palm Treo 680. The thing was alright for the keyboard but it crashed like crazy and the UI was garbage.
Where would we be if Apple didn't release the iPhone? Still using junky devices with a horrible interface?
No matter what way you look at it Apple has changed the game, and still to this day nothing compares to the iPhones simplistic interface!
LG Vu then a month later it was the Samsung Eternity.
6 months later, iPhone 3GS!
I didn't have a smartphone but it was the M1 by sanyo..... Garbage compare to the iPhone.......
Free phone that came when you sign up for AT&T......no competition
Think I had a Nokia 6230. Could never go back.
I was never a big fan of fancy phones... My instincts always told me that you'd get better quality with single function devices.
At one time I was sporting a palm pilot, a cell phone, and an iPodbin some very heavy cargo pants.
Most recently my phones were the Razr and then an LG Chocolate, both with Verizon.
I guess that shows how impressive the iPhone is that I would go against my instincts and ditch my other devices in favor of a bunch of empty pockets.
Blackberry 8800...haven't really looked back one bit since they unleashed t-mobile unlock
i was on a free flip phone from motorola on nextel
and a cheap tracfone before that back in like 2003-ish...iPhone was a HUGE upgrade to me lol
Sony Ericsson p910a. With no keyboard. The software keyboard wasn't very good but prepared me for the iPhone. Now I rock a 3Gs.
I didn't even have a smartphone. I had a Motorola flip phone. It was a piece of junk. I couldn't wait to get rid of it.
Blackberry 8600 series.
i had a Sony Ericsson W600i
I was a big sidekick fan.
Crappy Tmobile Samsung phone, blue MOTO Pebble, HTC Dash, HTC Wing, HTC Shadow, the made the switch to ATT and got the original iPhone, then got the iPhone 3G, now waiting for my 3G to sell so i can buy a 3GS!!! =)
Treo 700p
I had an AT&T Blackberry Curve
car phone
Longtime Treo user (650, then 700p), then switched to a Blackberry 8830 (all on Verizon), then to an iPhone.
Sony Ericsson W810i. Best non-smartphone cell phone I had ever used up to that point. Now, reeling in disappointment that I won't be able to upgrade from my 3G without paying the early upgrade price for another year :)
I was rocking a Nokia 8800 Sirocco before switching to the iPhone 2G. Moved from that to the 3G. As tempting as it is to upgrade to the 3GS, I think I'm gonna give it a miss and get the Palm Pre (Lol, Yeah right! Like I'd ever give up my iPhone for that.) Nah, I'll wait for the iPhone 4G.
LG chocolate 2 to iPhone 3G. it was like going from a geo metro to a corvette. =]
I was using a Nokia 6126, that phone was a trooper! It survived a dip in Hawaiian punch, its my back up phone in case any thing happens to my iPhone 3G.
Came from a LONG line of Motorola phones. The last one before my iPhone was the pink RAZR. LOVE my 3g iPhone. Will never go back.
Blackberry Storm...Don't get one!!
Cingular 8525 (HTC TyTN II), running WinMo 5 and 6. It worked ok, at least for the first 11 months, but then began having problems keeping a charge while talking. Junked it for a 3G last July. WinMo is total crap.
I'm a bit behind the times. My last phone: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motorola_DynaTAC
A crappy ol Moto Q.
Motorola KRZR. Thing sucked. But it had MMS... But I wouldn't trade my iPhone for the world! LOVE IT!
Nokia 6102i, it was my first camera phone I didn't even know what a smartphone was. Know I can't put my iPhone down. I still have my silver back no upgrade yet.
I was on a Treo 650 that was given to me, for a while..but the screen had som deep scratches in it so I talked myself into a Treo 750, which I used up until I got my iphone.. I will stick with this until somthing better comes out.. but I find it hard to believe that anything better will come out.. I've never been happier with a phone than I am with my iPhone
I was using the last of a long series of Palm products, a Palm Centro on Sprint. The difference is unbelievable.
If stolen, I would buy another iPhone immediately.
Nokia e65
Cingular's 8125 Pocket PC
The Treo 750. WinMob. Never again!
Blackberry Curve
Motorola razr v3 on Verizon.God did i hate that phone. Kisses iPhone 3GS
I had a RAZR. it was a decent phone. Then noticed the iPhone and started saving up for it. By the time I had like 300 dollars they came out with the 3g. which was a lot cheaper so I got it and gave the old phone to my dad (who broke it a couple days after).
I used an african-american berry.
I had a Sony Ericsson Z525.. but i was so jealous at my wifes blackberry curve, thats why I decided to go the smartphone way... and never looked back, now I am waiting for my Iphone 3GS to be delivered :-)
Motorola RAZR unlocked on T-Mobile. After I hacked it, it never performed the same...
lol, a motrola slvr, and i was real jealous of blackberie users
Samsung a910
Treo 650..... Ericsson T39m and Sony UX80..... Blackberry 950 pager and some Nokia cell
A treo 700 and then original iPhone now iPhone 3Gs
Hahahahhahahhahaha @

I used an african-american berry.
HTC Tytn II -> N95 -> HTC Touch HD (for a month) -> Iphone 3G (No S love in this house) :(
Blackberry Storm.
Imagine what is like to have an iPhone after that. Still not used to the fact that a phone really does what is is advertised to do!
I was using a 5 year old Nokia N-gage QD! Yeah I know!
A Blackjack. It was awful. WM was fine but the Blackjack was a terrible device.
Next phone will probably be an Android device. I love the HTC Hero.
Nokia 6210 - absolute piece of junk.
I had a blackberry 8120. Great phone but then I got an iphone 3g as a present and saw how great a phone can be.
I was using a Nokia E62. That thing was a tank.
I was using a motorola razr. I went from a non-smart phone to not being able to live without my iphone
Motorola Razr 2
Blackberry pearl. You will now have to pry my iPhone out of my cold dead hands.
Tmobile Dash and Motorola Krzr. Still have the Krzr as my back up regular phone, factory unlocked version.
I used a Samsung U 900.
I got this for Christmas xD 6 months later i got my iPhone lol
original Samsung Blackjack running WinMo 6.1. Great keyboard, but God-awful media. Music was horrible and video was worse. The browser was an even bigger joke. No turning back now!
The Motorola L7 ... connected to iTunes AND held 99 songs. w00t!
I had a Treo 680 and a Blackberry Curve.
I was using the Sony Ericson w810i and at the time thought it was the greatest phone to date. still belive it was a great phone with outstanding features.
Using the Treo 700P
Nokia N93.. not so bad phone...
I had the very first LG EnV with a really good camera and still cant believe i got it back then for $300 what an iPhone costs now! It was an attention grabber =)
Nokia N95
Nokia 6010- look it up. I'm serious.
LG Shine KE970- beautiful phone. Great camera with flash :P but iPhone beats it out 100x over..
Blackberry Storm 9530
BB 8800, 8310. Now a 3GS
the BB were great for punching out emails & text. The iphone is great for everything else. The battery kinda sucks. My BB's would last all day.
Treo 700p on Sprint
AT&T Moto RAZR
RAZR V3, don't miss it one bit!
Sony Ericsson s710a
Loved that phone. Until the iphone I used the most current Sony Ericsson almost exclusively.
I had a Nokia N76 before my 1st gen iPhone and a BlackBerry Curve 8310 before the 3G I have now.
actually it was the Sony Ericsson w810i . I had the s710a before that
unlocked SLVR, T-Mobile prepaid
Moto RaZR v3 + Palm T3
Blackberry 8320 Curve
Blackberry Bold
I am amazed at how many people weren't using smartphones at all before getting the iPhone. For me, it was (and this is just phones, not counting PDAs, and in descending order):
HTC Touch, Treo 800w, HTC Mogul, HTC Apache, Treo 650, SE T608 (a never-released CDMA cousin to the T610 that was Sprint's first Bluetooth phone), HTC Canary (first WM Standard phone), HTC Wallaby (first Pocket PC phone), some Qualcomm piece of crap.
An old LG Chocolate. Neat little vertical slider, but I'm so glad to have moved up to an iPhone.
Samsung Blackjack 1.
I had a t-mobile mda.... Then I got the iPhone!!! What else do I need now....;)
Treo 650. Good points: good PIM functions, video recording, tethering (yeah, baby!), lots of 3rd party apps. Bad points: absolutely blew as a phone, screen kind of small. The earpiece finally failed and I endured several months of having to make all calls via the speakerphone before the 3G finally came out. Overall I'm happier w/ the iPhone, but I still miss the hard keyboard from time to time... like when I type a longer post like this!
HTC Touch, but with a different ROM, not the original one.
Blackberry Curve with verizon. It was ok but made me realize just how limited it was when i bought my first iphone.
Wow over a hundred comments on this article. Who really gives a shit of what phone you had before the iPhone, does it really matter?
Moto ROKR.. Cingular.
It worked okay. Honestly it was more reliable than my 3GS, which is less reliable than my iPhone 2G
I had a SE W810i...
Best phone i ever used, before iPhone. Durable and literally unbreakable. Still a great phone, camera destroys that of the iPhone. Still use it as backup, howvere i li like my iPhone more.
Ericsson something or other. Piece. Of. Junk.
Is anyone buying a case for their iPhone 3GS?
http://tinyurl.com/mlbmqx
Blackberry Curve 8330
blackberry Curve
A razr haha
Blackberry World Edition
Blackberry Pearl.. had to pull out the battery at least once a day.. arrghh!
Treo 600>HP6515>Mio A701>Mio A702>HP6965>Iphone3G>Iphone 3Gs.
I have a smartphone addiction it seems......
Gordon
Free Nokia flip phone
Before getting my iPhone, I had been using an iPod Touch. The iPhone, to be honest, was my first cellphone.
The No-Phone 1300- it's my first phone! (I'm 13)
Cingular/htc 8525 windows mobile seems like so long ago now. Then iPhone 2g 8gb now 3gs 32gb oh what a world of difference!
Treo 700p and a Treo 650p before that. And I waited an extra 1 year for Palm to give me a significantly improved Palm product running a Palm/Web OS. But they failed miserably I went over to the iPhone, leaving Sprint along the way.
BlackBerry Curve 512MB --> iPhone 8GB --> iPhone 3G 16GB --> iPhone 3GS 32GB
The Blackberry had too many memory leaks and would just start erasing things it felt like I needed. I loved my Blackberry at the time but there is absolutely no way that I think I'd ever go back. I LOVE my 3GS! It really does make a big difference from the 3G.
motorola Q> blackberry storm> iPhone 3G> iPhone 3G S. Its the most BA thing ive ever used. holy crap.
I was using a Blackberry Storm 9530. Just got my iPhone 3GS today and can't put it down. The Storm has passed...
Verizons chocolate 3 flip with an iPod touch constantly on me as well. First day with the iPhone! And I'm lovin it!
PSP with Skype (bet Sony has a real phone soon)
I was using a white BlackBerry Pearl on T-Mobile until I got my first-gen iPhone in January 2008. While I was using the Pearl, I told everyone I knew that it was the best cell phone I'd ever owned.
That was true.
Then.
Not any more.
Can't wait till I have the resources to pick up a 3GS.
I was using palm treo 700p
Sony Ericsson W810i. Great phone.
A Treo 650 on CDMA... used Treo at that. In the end the unit wasn't even able to charge the battery. The iPhone came just in time for me. :)
Blackberry 8820, got the iPhone and never looked back.
RaZR...oh yeah! Wow it was so cool when I first got it...time flies!
Nothing like nostalgia to get a response from the readers hey Rene!
Nokia 5110, 6150, 6210, Motorola Razr, V600, iphone 2G, 3GS
T-Mobile G1
I had a Nokia N76 it worked. loved how it spoke the name when some one called
i used a t-mobile shadow that thing was horrible. and don't get me started on i felt about t-mobile network.
Before getting the iPhone, I had a Nokia N75 and really it was great for me.
Nextel - Motorolla 850i
I do miss the walkie talkie. Wish all phones had one.
Nokia N101 aka the Zach Morris phone
the samsung alias? is that what they call it now? not a bad little phone. had dual flip modes, mms, sms, video..probably my second favorite phone..no, third, cause I'm upgrading to the 3GS friday :)
Was using a red Nokia N76. Nice while it lasted, but I wouldn't be able to use any other phone now.
iPhone forever!
Nokia N95
Nokia E50.
Still unhappy with character size, with no possibility to change.
I'm a cell freak o I use several devices simultaneously:
a lot of SE devices (inc. K750i, D750i, K800i => P1i)
HP 4700x, HTC Wizard => HTC Diamond
Blackberry 7290 => 8700
Tried but skipped ;)
i-mate 8150
Samsung F480 (worst of all...)
An LG Shine KE 970. Seems such a bizarre gadget. Come to think of it, what non-iPhone isn't?
eTen X500 (WinMo 5) > iPhone 3G > Palm Centro
WinMo
+ GPS (and other cathegories) SW I could freely install
- terrible finger-touch control and slow OS feedback
iPhone
+ great finger touch control
- lack of good PIM apps (incl. sharing the same Calendar DB - I hate Apple for this and this is the only reason I've switched to old good Palm)
Palm Centro
+ variety of PIM apps, totally configurable UI
- really bad webbrowsing experience (especially after using iPhone for few months :( )
Treo 750. Still a great phone but lacks wifi.
Had the Blackjack and loved it.
Treo 700P. Obviously, it can't compare to my iPhone 3G but it still served me well for 2 faithful years (2006-2008): thanks, little buddy.
Xperia X1, still going to use it though. I've been a Windows Mobile man for the last 4-5 years.
N95 still as my O2 store has sold out come on O2 sort it out!!
Palm Treo Pro (GSM Unlocked) - I hung onto it as long as I did since I wasn't convinced I could live without the hardware keyboard. Then along came my 3GS... WOW!
HTC Wizard/Vario on T-Mobile UK, Heavily customized and loaded up to date winmo 6.1 roms etc. Still use it without a sim for tomtom, tomtom need to hurry up with that iphone version!
Nokia N95 which I still have. Lasted several years and looks pretty beat up but still perfectly usable. I'll keep it as a spare or whatever just incase!
T-Mobile wing (HTC Herald). A very fragile device which ultimately drove me to the iphone despite my appriciation for windows mobile.
Treo 650 on Verizon.
I was using a Treo 700w, yes that's a W, before getting an iPhone 3g last year, and now a 3gs. It was a nightmare: crashed a minimum of once a day, and download speeds were atrocious (on 3g in NYC).
LG EnV Crappy Phone!!
Nokia 6151... still using it as my secondary phone.
Htc touch cruise. No touch screen phone comes even close to the iphone
The most recent was the new t-moble blackberry pearl flip, which is a piece of crap. I can't stand anyone with it. So I switched back to the t-moble sidekick LX for a couple more months before paying the termination fee to switch over for an iPhone 3G. I was originally an iPhone hater until I got the itouch that came with my MacBook. I can't imagine how I survived before without the iPhone.
Sprint Mogul.
Nokia N95.
Wasn't straightforward what to choose after such a good all-rounder. Needed a bigger screen. The Touch Pro 2 and N97 were under consideration but the iPhone has more sexiness.
I was using, what I think was the best smartphone out there (at the time), the Motorolla A1000. It was running Symbian Op System. Very sturdy phone. TONS of apps that I can download from websites and sync from my computer. Also could sync contacts, calendar with Outlook. Used Edge for internet access.
ATT Pearl 8100.. my 2 years are up! Picked up a 3G for $99. After 17 days, I don't plan to keep it - likely taking advantage of ATT's 30 day return policy. Now looking to go back to either the 8900 or Tour.
N95 sold for £100 on mazumamobile was a big help in getting the jesus phone lol...
BlackBerry Curve 8330.
i was yet another BlackBerry owner (8330 Curve to be exact). before that, Palm 700P. i get my 1st iPhone August 1st when my Verizon contract expires. going for the 3GS 32gb. can't wait! seems to be an excellent device that should last easily 2-4 years if well taken care of.
Wow, that was along time ago.
HTC Mogul PPC-6800 <333333
Treo 680
Before the iPhone 3g I was rockin an LG CU500. Sweet phone with a rotating camera. Then came my first iPhone, and after that one got "misplaced" I was using a beat up razr for a few months until I got my second iPhone 3g.
Treo 650 CDMA.
Was rocking the Nokia e61 unlocked on T-Mobile, let wifey get the first edge iPhone and then jumped on the 3g iPhone train. Wifey upgraded to the 3gs. Sitting out the 3gs train and holding out for a multitasking video shooting next generation iPhone.
Blackberry Storm
Blackberry curve 8300...can't wait to get off of it. My iPhone is coming next week.
Palm Treo 755P. It crashed more often than a jailbroken first gen iPhone running Winterboard.
Samsung Instinct on Sprint. Good, capable phone, lasted me over a year - and many of its location-based services still beat the iPhone.
However, I no longer work for Sprint, and I have wanted an iPhone since Day One, and now it finally has video recording & picture mail (soon!?), so I made the jump. It is thoroughly a joy to use.
2007 Sidekick LX. OG. sold it to a roomate who took over payments for two months while I was playing with my new 3G. I still check hiptop3.com form time to time.
I was using a Treo 650 on Sprint when the original iphone was released. Bought the 3G when it came out which my wife now has and I have the the 3GS. My original iPhone is a iTouch now.
I had iPhone 2g and then pearl then I got the blackberry curve and then went to the iPhone 3g now my new baby 3gS it's amazing.
Blackjack 2. Glad I got away from that WindowsMobile junk!
Had HP iPaq rw 6828 - missed some features. But have had to resurrect as I dropped the iPhone yesterday and smashed the screen. 3 weeks till replacement comes :(, enjoying getting some control back again, but miss the simplicity.
HTC Touch Pro and I'm really impressed with my first iPhone now, but I also miss the outside missed call/message indicator lights.
VX6600... and it was the shizz when I got it. I was pumped.
i was using a BB Pearl and then a Curve 8320 towards the end of my 6-year relationship with T-Mobile. needless to say, the 3GS makes every other phone i've owned look like a Fisher-Price dumbed-down piece of junk. i'll never go back to BB again.
BlackBerry Curve 8320 (for email only, battery can't support both email+phone for 8+ hours)
+ Nokia N73 (HK local call)
iPhone 3G is great!!!
But, I missing the low data usage with BlackBerry, filtering emails to device functionality, forwarding message in email/sms/mms, 2-click search with email address/subject, 1 single inbox for all email accounts, 2-click mark selected emailsss as read...
In any case, thanks to the 3.0, I can copy & paste and spotlight things finally. But, battery life is still a concern, only slightly better than curve 8320.
Moto RAZR. Best phone I had owned, but Verizon kept sending me "free txt msg from Verizon Wireless" and it kept running my battery dry..
Nuthin' like da iPhone. Plus, there's no second gadget to carry around (iPod) = :))
I had the T-mobile Dash(HTC Excalibur)
I had a sidekick lx. good phone but ive had so many problems. Iphone is amazing!
