The universal search feature on Apple TV has snagged support for a number of new apps. Now Apple TV users can quickly and easily learn whether a specific show is available through A&E, Cooking Channel, DIY, Food Network, FYI, HGTV, History, Lifetime and Travel Channel.
Apple has been on a roll lately with adding universal search support to more and more apps. Here's the current list of apps that are supported with universal search:
- Movies and TV shows in iTunes
- Cooking Channel
- Disney Channel
- Disney Jr
- Disney XD
- Food Network
- HBO GO
- HBO NOW
- Nat Geo TV
- PBS Kids
- SHOWTIME Anytime
- Travel Channel
Unfortunately, this list is limited to those in the U.S. Universal search remains much more limited in other countries around the globe. However, if you do call the U.S. home, you should start seeing the new additions in your search results if you have the corresponding apps installed.
