Don't have an entire month's worth of paychecks to spend on a new phone? Need to get something for a kid or someone who's not into smartphones? Maybe just shopping on a budget? You can get the iPhone 6s, which is a great phone in its own right, for just $5 a month at Verizon Wireless right now.
The way this deal works is you sign up for a new line of service and pay the $349.99 for the price of the phone. Then, over the next 24 months, Verizon will apply a $229.99 promo credit to your monthly bill. By the end, you've only paid about $120 for the phone.
The deal is available in four colors: Silver, Gold, Space Gray, and Rose Gold. If you want to upgrade from 32GB to 128GB, you can get a similar deal where you only pay $10 a month in much the same way. The promo credit ends when the balance is paid or you terminate the line.
When we reviewed the iPhone 6s back in 2015, we gave it a Recommended badge and said it showed great improvement over its predecessors. We said "This generation of iPhone models is, quite rightfully, Apple's best yet. They've come farther in speed, photography, build quality, and smarts than ever before."
Our review added: "Almost every internal component has seen an upgrade, and that 'same-old' exterior design? It's tougher than last year's model, with better materials. Combine that with Apple's latest version of iOS and iPhone 6s-exclusive software features, and you're looking at an entirely new device hidden within the shell of its predecessor."
This was also the first iPhone to introduce 3D Touch, which has become standard since. Read about the tips and tricks of using 3D Touch in our guide.
