iPhone Invades Stanford University

A while back TUAW reported that an iPhone programming course was being created. Well that course became a reality and they now have 80 students signed up and ready to start developing killer apps this fall. Along with the programming course, Stanford has designed a project that contains a series of apps for their students... The Stanford iApps Project. These apps are currently in beta testing and should be in the App Store soon.

That means, despite Google's CEO being on the Apple Board of Directors, Google's Maps, Search, and other services having a prominent place on both devices, and -- let's face it -- Google's full on tech-crush for the iPhone -- no one is going to hesitate to pit the two systems head-to-head. How to Keep your Apple Gadgets

Chances are, if you're reading this you've been in this spot: a loved one suddenly wises up to your gadget addiction and is forced to call you out on it. Looking into your desk drawer and the tangle of USB cables snaking out of your computer, you're forced to agree that, yes, perhaps you don't need all these iPods.

Dueling Documents: AT&T Hatin' the Storm, RIM Hatin' the iPhone

If you head on over to Crackberry.com you will notice a "few" articles relating to the BlackBerry Storm on Verizon. Honestly, it is no surprise since this is supposed to be RIM's answer to the iPhone.

A few months back Casey reported on a AT&T store handing out anti-iPhone propaganda to it's customers... Now AT&T themselves are taking shots at the BlackBerry Storm. And is it really a surprise seeing how Verizon is pushing this device as it's iPhone killer?

PodcasterGate: Rejects Gagged and Ad-Hoc Slagged!

Start alienating your developer base and there's two ways to handle it: the right way, and the current Apple way. Delicious Monster's Wil Shipley offers up what should be required reading for both Apple PR and App Store staff, on how to go about the right way: let the market decide. Apple, much to their discredit on this one, has chosen pretty much the exact opposite. Macrumors reports:

Apple's Smart Buying Process Now Live!

Does anyone remember the good old days when you could walk into a Apple store and walk right out with an iPhone that was not opened or activated via an Apple store employee? Well those days are long gone but Apple did make one step in the right direction with their new smart buying process.

This process basically allows you to start the buying process at home instead of doing it all in store. You enter in all of your billing information, review your eligibility and pricing options, and the final step consists of you selecting your AT&T rate plan.
