How to use a PC-formatted drive on the Mac

Macs can easily read PC-formatted hard disk drives. Writing to them, however, is a different story.

If you've switched to the Mac, welcome aboard. Your old external Windows PC drive will work great on the Mac. Apple has built OS X Yosemite and some previous OS X releases with the ability to read from those disks just fine. If you're using such a drive and you'd like to write new data to them, you'll find you can't unless you add new software. Fortunately, you don't have to spend a dime.

Criminals are stealing money through the Starbucks app, ensure your passwords are strong

Criminals are stealing money from credit cards, bank, and PayPal accounts through the official Starbucks app — but you can easily prevent it by using strong passwords.

Starbucks, the internationally popular coffee chain, acknowledged that criminals are actively using the company's official app to obtain personal details as well as gain access to monetary accounts. The criminals create a new gift card, load your money onto the card, and transfer the funds over. Starbucks had no process in place to challenge or halt the transactions, or ask for customers affected to provide a secondary approval.

Review: Fugoo blasts other Bluetooth speakers out of the water

Review: Fugoo blasts other Bluetooth speakers out of the water

Waterproof, dustproof, portable, and classy: Fugoo is a fantastic Bluetooth speaker for your indoor and outdoor needs.

The $179 Fugoo speaker and I were first introduced back in January, when, during a tradeshow, I heard the boom of Taylor Swift's Shake It Off, a splash, then an exclamation: "It's playing underwater!"

When I turned to look, I found a member of Fugoo's staff smiling and chatting with the aforementioned exclaimer. Both stood around a large fish tank, where several other staff members were dunking active Fugoo speakers, then tossing them on the floor with abandon. On an otherwise sleepy day, the booth was a beacon of sound and life.

How to access and add world clocks on Apple Watch

You can easily view the same world clocks on your iPhone right on your Apple Watch.

Have colleagues, friends or family in different time zones? The World Clock app on the Apple Watch lets you keep track of what time it is in different areas throughout the world. You can add certain time zones to your Watch face with complications or view all the time zones you'd like to track with the World Clock app itself.

#TBT in the age of iCloud Photo Library

ThrowBackThursday is an internet meme where, on Thursdays, you post a photo of yourself from an earlier part of your life.

Now, with iCloud Photo Library, if you're doing a #TBT on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter from your iPhone, you're no longer limited to the photos in your camera roll or those you've laboriously synced over from your personal computer. You have access to all the photos you've taken, ever, from every device you have connected to iCloud — including your potentially massive, historic Photos for OS X library.

How to enable mono audio on your Apple Watch

If you're deaf or hard of hearing in one ear, mono audio can help make sure you still get all the sound.

With a Bluetooth headset, you can listen to audio right from your Apple Watch. Stereo audio, however, can have separate sound in each channel — left or right. Mono audio puts all the sound into both channels — left and right. That way, whether it's music or talk, you won't miss anything.

Regarding Apple Watch and Activation Lock

Unlike the iPhone, the Apple Watch doesn't yet feature Activation Lock.

A theft deterrent system that requires your iCloud password to be disabled, Apple added Activation Lock to iOS in 2013 The Apple Watch, which runs a variant of iOS called Watch OS, doesn't yet secure the device beyond the default passcode/password intercept on the clock face. This was first noticed by @enMTW immediately following the Watch launch in April, but gained wider attention today following a story on iDownloadblog. So, what does it all mean?
