Control Iron Man Via Your iPhone
Ok, well you really can't control Iron Man, but the lucky French can use their iPhone to control their soon to be released Iron Man Blu-Ray disc. This title will be the first to utilize NetBlender's BD Touch technology that allows your Blu-ray movie to interact with your iPhone and iPod Touch.

Reports of Steve's Heart Attack Have Been Greatly Exaggerated
Reports of Steve's death have been greatly exaggerated... and in this particular case, a report of Steve Jobs having a heart attack. Can we leave this guy alone people? And is his health any of your business anyways? This time the heart attack rumor started over at a CNN website, iReport.com. It remained on CNN's website for about 30 minutes before being pulled.
CNN has since made the following statement:

Return of the Web Apps?
Is it possible that web apps can return from the dead? It seems to me that the 2.0 firmware pretty much buried the poor web apps six feet under. Even if they are not used nearly as often since we have 3rd party apps along with the App store, it seems as if Apple are quietly tweaking the iPhone for them.
According to a reader over at AppleInsider.com:

If Nokia Launches an iClone, and Nobody Notices, Does it Truly Exist?
Reader Reptile writes in with the tip, and the pithy title inspiration. Seems like our friends to the frozen north (no, not Canada, Nokia-land!) finally released their iClone... er... Tube... er... Xpress Music.
The device, which started life as a complete rip-off proof of concept roughly 3 minutes after Steve Jobs revealed the iPhone live on the Macworld 2007 stage has taken a long -- looooooooong -- time to come to market. Was it worth the wait?

AT&T Not Rushing Next Generation 4G Network? 3G Will Not Go Quietly...
A few weeks back we mentioned a little blurb about 4G and when we may start to see it. Even though AT&T announced its decision to deploy Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology for its 4G network, they are confident they can get more life from their 3G network by tweaking it, and in doing so give them more time to perfect their future network. (I know what you are thinking... maybe they should have taken more time to perfect their current network!)

LightSaber Unleashes Less Marketing Screens!
Everyone's favorite (i.e. only licensed) LightSaber emulator for the iPhone just got a tiny micro-point bump of its own tonight. The change?
After 5 times, the annoying marketing screen for the paid Star Wars: The Force Unleashed App is permanently disabled. Says THQ:
Just want to let you know we are listening to your feedback and working hard to make Lightsaber Unleashed the best we can.
And may the force be with them for that!
Thanks Cherryhead25 for the tip!

Apple Releases iTunes 8.0.1... Bug Fixes!
Continuing the (very welcome) trend of rapid, bug-fix (including the nasty HD overwrite Dieter wrote about a while back!) and stability themed product updates, Apple has released its first minor bump to iTunes 8 (see our feature overview), the aptly numbered 8.0.1. The list of changes, voluminous by Apple's standards, include (via Macrumors):
Seamlessly plays the current song when creating a new Genius playlist.
Improves syncing spoken menus to iPod nano.
Addresses an issue of deleting HD TV episodes when downloading.
Improves checking for updates from the App Store.
Improves accessibility with VoiceOver.
Addresses problems syncing Genius results to iPod.
Head on over to Apple Software Update to get the latest -- and hopefully greatest version for your iPhone. Then come back here and let us know how it's working for you, and... er.. whether it breaks anything else...
