There's been no news out of Cupertino lately. So since there's nothing to report, they make up the rest for filler until there is something to report again.

It sounds like a realistic expectation. According to some people in certain areas of industry there are test units out. I personally believe that they've been testing internal units for some time now and have 2 or 3 models they're externally testing per carrier. I can tell you with certainty that the delay has nothing to do with the a5 chip overheating.
I'm gonna come out and say that it will be a multiple platform launch with the usual players, AT&T and Verizon. T-Mobile will be part of it, with a possibility of Sprint coming into the game. The obstacle is Sprint's signature hard-on for putting Sprint bloatware on their devices(and a massive sprint logo).
I expect this to be an interesting launch. It will outsell any iPhone that's ever been sold. This is because RIM is expected to lose a significant amount of market share to Apple, according to "industry analysts", people have been waiting for the iPhone 5 to dump their Blackberries. Also, you have an abnormal amount of people still on their previous gen iPhones waiting for the iPhone 5 and to top that off, the gotta have it early adopters. It's no wonder Apple has a second manufacturer building iPhones exclusively.
In any event, thanks for lending me your ear. This will be fun and interesting. I can't wait.

Out of all the carriers Sprint is the one that has toned down the bloatwares on their Android phones. Heck they're selling the nexus s at their official stores (tmo and ATT versions are sold through best buy) without a hint of their logos on the phone
