I am glad I don't have this issue lol. Surface is regularly releasing products and windows 10 is good lol. Love the line at the end about the iPad. Sent from the iMore App

I do wish Apple made something like a Surface. Very jealous of my wife's.

The problem isn't the hardware, it's the software. The iPad Pro is plenty powerful with stellar battery, but the apps are only capable of about 10% of their desktop counterparts. If devs would bring the iOS apps up to snuff, you wouldn't envy the Surface.
I bought my 12" iPP to take to construction site to reference & markup our CAD plans. The PDF software, Bluebeam Revu, & CAD software, AutoCAD 360 (& Revit, review only with A360 on iPad), simply are nowhere near what they should be. Sent from the iMore App -
Why Hackintosh? Any software you do serious work with runs as good or better on Windows. I use Macs and PCs all day long and the Adobe suite runs faster on our PC workstations as does our 3D software! If Apple wants to de-emphasize their computer line it's easy for us, we buy cheaper Windows workstations and get all we need.

I almost built a hackintosh about a year ago, not for the "get work done" programs, but for Apple-only software like Photos & iMovie. I ended up buying an iMac 5k. Just not worth the hassle. I have enough hassle dealing with my work Windows PC. iPad Pro is very much its own bag of hurt. All comes down to poorly developed software. Sent from the iMore App

Good thing you don't need anything like Applescript, or you'd be screwed. Still, my productivity would be cut in half if I had to use Windows. It's not about processor speed. I use the Adobe Suite too, and speed is not an issue.

Ha, funny. Though I have been noticing the iPad has recently really stepped it up as an all in one system. I may get an iPad Pro by the end of the year, Ill see. Sent from the iMore App

If Apple wants to ignore the PC market, you guys here can go on with your Apple snark. But Windows is a viable alternative now, with cheaper hardware that packs more wallop, and an operating system that works just fine. You need to listen to your customers, not tell them what you think is best. An iPad is not a viable alternative. In fact, when my iPad finally goes dead I will not replace it, as my iphone does everything I want in a mobile device.

As the satisfied owner of an IPP, this may sound strange, but I agree. The IPP is not a true laptop alternative. It's a fantastic tablet. I can and do write on it happily with an Apple keyboard cover, but in the end, if you need a laptop, get a damned laptop.
Also, Windows 10 is fantastic, if such a thing can be said anymore. Outside a few edge cases, I can't find many reasons to own a Mac laptop anymore. -
And of course, your experience applies to everyone? Mmmkay....

great comic love the line about the iPad

iPad != computer. It doesn't have a local file browser, nor is it fast. Nor can I play PC/console style games on it. Nor can I use a mouse with it. http://www.businessinsider.com/steve-jobs-touch-screen-mac-2010-10 "Steve Jobs said today touchscreen notebooks would be, 'ergonomically terrible.'" I'd say he doesn't need Windows nor OSX. He could do Linux/BSD. Games are becoming less of an issue, and you can dualboot if need be, or do SteamOS. The PS4 is BSD, as is OSX in a sense.
-
Dude, FYI. macOS is BSD.
-
Dude, having BSD's kernel is not BSD. That's like saying a car is roller blades because they both have wheels. BSD wouldn't hide things from users as much as OSX does. The PS4 is FreeBSD by your definition too.

**** yeah, I WILL have fun with a hackintosh. At this point, that's probably going to be my next computer anyway. Posted via the iMore App for Android
