Daily Tip: How to delete Cydia apps from your iPhone or iPad [Jailbreak]

Installed some Cydia apps onto your Jailbroken iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad and curious how to delete them? Tried the regular method of tapping and holding and making them jiggle but not seeing the handy App Store app "delete" icon in to corner? Don't worry, if your Cydia apps or extensions aren't working, are causing conflicts, or are simply no longer desired you can delete them as well. We'll show you how after the break!
With Cydia there's a few more steps involved in deleting an app than the App Store method but it's still rather easy
- Launch Cydia.
- In Cydia, tap the 'Manage' tab along the bottom toolbar.
- Tap 'Packages' at the top of the Manage pane.
- Scroll through the alphabetical list to find the app you want to remove.
- Tap the app to be taken to its respective pane.
- Tap 'Modify' in the upper-right corner.
- From here you'll have the option to reinstall the app or remove it altogether. Tap 'Remove'.
- Tap 'Confirm' in the upper-right corner.
Cydia will then perform some magic and wipe the app from your iDevice, and you'll no longer see the app icon on your springboard. If you'd like to reinstall the app, simply launch Cydia and search for the app you just deleted to reinstall.
Bonus Tip: If you'd like to remove jailbreak apps the same way you remove App Store apps, go into Cydia and search for CyDelete. CyDelete is a free extension and won't install any app icon, but instead allows the user to tap-and-hold Cydia apps on the springboard in order to remove them by tapping the 'x' once in wiggle-mode. We've tested CyDelete on 4.0, 4.0.1 and 4.1, but haven't confirmed it working on 4.2.1 yet so let us know if you have it up and running.

What if my cydia app has been deleted by accident. What do I do now?
...I would think penicillin...
Works just fine on 4.2.1
I've tried both methods to delete a NES Emulator but I haven't had any luck. It doesn't show up in the packages and when I search Cydia none of the emulators are installed.
@rudeboy360 You might have to "Expert" mode under manage, packages to see what you are looking for. In the top right hand corner it might says Simple, just press on it to switch to expert mode.
I have gone into cydia and deleted it. And there are still cydia apps on my springboard. And my springboard keeps crashing and my phone keeps turning off everynow and then and going into "safe mode". How the hell do I get rid of this stupid jailbreak crap! It's not even good at all!!!! Thanks
CyDelete works fine on 4.2.1 and Sally to that just restore it in itunes
Mike - I have iPhone 3G that has been jailbroken with Cydia (man in a shop did it) which is rubbish so I want to get rid, however you CAN'T just 'restore' it in (the latest version of) iTunes because it keeps coming up with 'error 1015' and puts the phone into recovery mode (which I can get back out but then goes back to the Cydia interface). How can I revert my iPhone and delete Cydia completely?
