Apple airs iPad mini ad 'Piano'

To coincided with the launch of the iPad mini, Apple has started airing a new television ad called "Piano" that focuses on this new device. The ad actually begins with an iPad 4 running GarageBand and a hand comes in to play the intro to the popular piano duet Heart and Soul. When it's time for the second pianist would join the song, an iPad mini slides in and a hand begins to play the melody of the song. As the song is played, the camera slowly pans and zooms into the iPad mini so that it's the only featured device. There is no voiceover for this ad, just music being played by iPads.

I love this. It's one of the most inspired ads in Apple's history; it's simple and effective, it shows how the mini fits in with the regular iPad, in 30 seconds with no words required. This is going to help Apple sell minis by the boatload.

Very nice. I much prefer Apple ads to the over-the-top Android ads that show nothing of the product's capability beyond space suited users and gamer blowing holes in concrete walls.

Interesting how Samsung sneaks in their video advertisements, in just about every review of the iPad mini. Like the one on this site, on my computer right now.

It's simple, but it doesn't do anything to show why the smaller size is better than the bigger size.
