AT&T lights up LTE in a slew of new locals

Been waiting for AT&T LTE to light up on your iPhone 5 or cellular-equipped iPad? Well, as part of AT&T's announced $14 billion network build-out over the next three years, a bunch of new places just went live:

  • Mobile, Ala.
  • Jonesboro, Ark.
  • Pensacola, Fla.
  • South Bend and Mishawaka, Ind.
  • Saratoga/Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
  • Columbus, Ohio
  • Toledo, Ohio
  • Eugene, Ore.
  • Corvallis, Ore.
  • Portland, Ore.
  • Greenville, S.C.
  • Columbia, S.C.
  • Charleston, S.C.
  • El Paso, Texas

Today's launch comes on the heels of other cities going live this week, including:

  • Minneapolis/St. Paul
  • Provo-Orem, Utah
  • Denver
  • Anne Arundel County in Maryland
  • Daytona Beach
  • York, Penn.
  • Tacoma, Wash.
  • Milwaukee, Wis.
  • Louisville, Ken.

That's on top of AT&T's expanded LTE coverage in Fairfield County, Conn., as well as downriver Wayne and Monroe near Detroit. AT&T says its LTE coverage has doubled in 2012 and is now in 103 markets, with more to come this year.

AT&T lights up LTE in a slew of new locals

Little Rock, Arkansas and surrounding areas went like 2 weeks ago... Too bad I'm now throttled by AT&T for hitting 5 gigs in a little over 2 days... LTE= Trap.. Seriously, if you have a low tier data plan, do yourself a favor, head over to setting - general- netwo
rk. And cut it off, or it will be just a tease until you hit the data cap

I honestly couldnt tell you. I steamed some live video from the NBA GAMETIME app. It was high quality and clear. I assume that since my connection speed here in LR is about 20-25's that it gave me a higher quality stream thinking I was on wifi or something.

My last pay check was $9500 operational twelve hours per week on-line. My sisters friend has been averaging 15k for months presently and she or he or he's employed regarding twenty hours per week. i can't believe but simple it had been once i tried it out. this will be what I do, bing30,ḉ☺ℳ

Cool. I got my AT&T iPhone 5 today and while my hometown of Raleigh, NC was already LTE I'm happy to see the expansion. Most especially welcome is Louisville because I do project work for a company there and spend quite a bit of time there.

AT&T flipped the switch to LTE in Milwaukee WI on Tuesday the 13th. It's been working very, very well on my new iPhone 5. Speeds aren't consistent but I'm clearly seeing 20 & 30+ Mbps down. It also seems to, for me, penetrate this bunker of a building I work in as well. I'm guessing/speculating it's on a different frequency that gets through all this steel & concrete better than the "4G" signal before. Very happy :-D

I just wish they would put decent LTE in the Charlotte, NC area! Sitting at work near uptown and my speed test is 7.63 down and 2.03 up :( And that's a good reading for me.

I wish AT&T would complete a city first. Los Angeles Ca doesn't have full LTE Coverage only downtown LA San Fernando valley which does get decent Faux G speeds 5-10 Mbps but LTE is no where to be found.

Glad I saw this. I've had LTE turned off because it hasn't been available in my area. All of my looks into LTE rollout plans haven't showed my area, but I see it listed here and sure enough, LTE just got turned on! Very excited!

I'm in one of those lucky cities - Mobile, AL. On the far outskirts of town I was getting 30+ Mbps down on my iPad last night and today thanks to LTE. Around downtown, I'm "only" getting 8-9 Mbps.

I guess I'm going to have to ditch the iPhone4 now.

I've had LTE in the Orlando area already and with great speeds. I go to school outside Daytona and tested the LTE. I got bout 2 down and 20 up. Think something is fishy.
