Apple airs iPad mini commercial - I'll be home
Apple has aired a new iPad mini commercial featuring FaceTime and aimed at the holidays. It's called I'll be home, and features a girl and her grandfather sharing a musical "moment of holiday cheer".
This is the kind of commercial Apple does often, and does well, blending technology and humanity, the latest gadgets with timeless nostalgia. After some missteps in the middle of the year, Apple's playing it safe and going back to what's historically worked for them.

It's actually very touching. And the girl in the commercial has a great voice.
Am I the only one who thinks that this is creepy
Me to.
Me too
That was cute.
God Bless Apple for not fearing Christmas. It was very nice.
+1
It's a beautiful ad. And it exemplifies the success Apple has achieved by creating meaningful, quality products "for the rest of us" -- products whose value is measured by how easily they're used by everyday people to do things that are important to them, rather than by how much technology is crammed into them cheaply.
The best ideas are the simplest ones. This is a sublimely good ad, but it's the sort of ad that has the best effect when it's on light rotation.
Nice ad.
This is a really annoying commercial. Her voice is super grating and this would never happen in real life.
Has anyone noticed how large the girl's hands are? They look like Hobbit feet, I think they cgi'd adult hands on her....
I'll be home for Christmas, if only on your screen.
